Movies What film scared you the most as a kid?

Honestly as a kid I never got scared of horror movies I loved them. Even as an adult. At some point though when I watched one of the insidious movies it was to scary for me. Like I had to sleep with my TV on even though I know none of that dumb shit is real. I stopped watching horror movies after that. A lot of them aren't even really good anymore.

The last good one I saw was the one where you get chased by a monster after having sex with the last person who had the monster chasing them. Thought that was a great original idea.

This scared the shit out of me. My brother kept telling me how it was all in the bible that there would be a 2nd coming of the devil. The opening scene with the chanting music is still damn creepy.

I watched it with him when we were both kids alone everyone else was out that night.

I can’t remember which Freddy had the roach motel.

evil dead messed me up as a kid.

I was 30 years old when I found out that its a comedy and was mocked by my nephews for saying I would never watch it again.

Scream

I was like 9 or 10 and the opening scene scared the shit out of me and the first attack on Sidney was a scary scene and setting. I was peaking out the windows.

The whole mood of the movie. At the time, we lived in a home like the ones in the movie. Mostly surrounded by woods. Next neighbor is a 5 minute walk away.

Especially since at the time I wasn’t as genre savvy as the movie was so a lot of the light hearted self aware stuff that make the sequels campy flew over my head back then and didn’t spoil the intensity of the plot.

I had seen a bunch of Friday the 13th and Freddy movies to that point, and was entertained by them, but I never found them scary.

Scream is plausible. Atleast most of it

I saw Jaws when it was released in theaters. Scared me out of the water for years.

For me it was a movie called The Entity. I was sleeping over my buddies house and unexpectedly his older brother put this movie on. It's about a woman who gets haunted by a poltergeist, but it like rapes her and shit

I'd probably think it's lame now, but that was like my first proper horror movie and I was like 6 or 7 maybe. So at the time I was terrified

All aboard the remake train.

Can't believe the timing.

Plus one for Robocop....was 5 and didn't know violence could be that gratuitous.

Howard the Duck also messed with me.

As did Village of the Dammed

Nightmare on elm street when I was real young..

Not a film but this would do it too.. Especially one episode a crazy killer was last seen in my small home town scared my 8 year old self.
