It's A Wonderful Life

My Rating: 9/10
My Opinion: Not gonna lie, I was really close to giving this a 10/10 and ranking it #1 over Die Hard. It's a beautiful film from start to finish with my 2 favourite parts being first 15 mins when George is a kid and then the last 15 mins. The ending is one of the best endings in film and it's why I'm almost gave it the nod over Die Hard.
The opening scene again is one of my favourite scenes in the movie. The only question I have is why did George at age 12 have to run and ask his father about what he should do about the poison he knew was mistakenly put in the wrong bottle lol but it leads into the scene with George and his boss that is so well done, I liked how well the little girl reacted and you can believe she is frightened and scared. It was perfect.
What I didn't like is after this the movie moves ahead 9 years later and George is now 21 years old and he is Jimmy Stewart who is 38 years old irl lol
He's so old and it's not believable at all that this middle aged man is 21
When George finally meets the angel he is stopped from jumping off the bridge into the cold waters below by the angel who jumps off the bridge into the cold waters down below. So George who was planning on killing himself by jumping off the bridge, then jumps off the bridge to save the angel lol IDK man I thought this was so dumb. It's the only 2 things I didn't like about this movie. Everything else I loved.
It's also quite underrated with some of the comedy. I thought it was funny. When all of the guys are drooling over Violet one of the guys says he needs to run home to his wife lol it's a clean joke I liked. Also the encounter when George loses it with the kids teacher and her husband over the phone. It leads to a funny.....punch....line.
I can't say enough about the ending. You have to watch the entire movie to really appreciate it. It's not something you can enjoy just watching on YouTube unless you have seen this movie countless times. If I didn't grow up watching Die Hard a 1000 times, It's A Wonderful Life would be #1 rn. It could very well surpass it which I never thought I would say before I watched this movie today.
I watched this in 4K but the black/white version. I can't wait to watch the colored version next year.
