Movies What film scared you the most as a kid?

Nightmare on Elm Street 3, I was about 6, scared the shit out of me, nightmares about Freddy Kruger etc. Fuck my older brothers for making me watch it ha ha

- I'm not a fan of horror. But hated a stupid movie were some monster crushed a cat head.

When I was a little kid, I hated shopping with my parents and I'd always rush to the video section while they pissed about. I'd go through all the VHS, in particular the horror movies, looking for cool screenshots and coverart on the boxes. And the Robocop VHS always fucked with me because, the German version at least, had this pic on the back

So I was scared of watching Robocop for some years (When I eventually did I thought it was awesome though)

Yeah that was the other scene from the movie that creeped me out. I remember my brother and I both trying to laugh it off but we were both scared shitless lol.

It def affected me too.

It's so fuckin over the top.

Id never seen violence like that at 7 yrs old.
7 year olds now are desensitized due to YouTube and clips of GOT battles, the animated series Invincible and much more.

The original ‘Night of the Living Dead’

‘They’re coming to get you Barbara..’ still one of the greatest and most iconic movie lines ever uttered imo

Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers

I saw it at a relatively young age and it scared me so unbelievably bad, I've never been that scared in my life from a movie before or since. And all time, it probably ranks Top 5 or 10 of the most scared I've ever been in my life period. The sheer terror I felt is almost indescribable.

This was a made-for-tv movie that was about Mutually Assured Destruction, that came out during the peak of the arms race during the Cold War.

Scared the hell out of me, as it was a possible reality.

Considering that Kermit the Frog was on Sesame Street, I was surprised by the darkness of the Muppet Show.

I had a vivid imagination, so I was scared of a lot, including just concepts of horror movies I had never seen. One that got me as a little kid was The Gate, as it felt like something that could happen in my own yard/house.

I was 7 or 8. I hadn't seen many grown up movies. I'd been watching stuff like 'the muppet movie', 'Herbie goes bananas' and 'Lassie come home' and the like. I think I may have seen 'Every which way but loose' as well.

So a friend of mine and I go to the video store (was just a 'gas station' that had videos to rent) and giggling, we hired this

Apparently the guy working there had no issues renting this to a couple of 7 year olds...

Totally blew us away. That jerky head movement scared us for years.

We both went on to like horror flicks after that but I never got around to watching The Shining or the Exorcist until nearly 10 years later. They had unassuming covers and no one was really talking about them in my circles.

I'm still traumatized by the music during the rape scenes.
Re The entity, yeah Tarrantino used that music in Inglorious Bastards too.

I remember The Gate as a kid. It wasn't bad at the time for kids to watch. I think it's on youtube.

Back to the Future is one of my favorite movies now, but Doc Brown scared the bejesus out of me when I was 5.

If I told you this man had the defiled corpses of a dozen missing children in his garage instead of a time machine I think you'd believe me.
