Also, if he societal norms at the time were that an adult getting with a 16 year old was no big deal (and I know for a fact that this was not a big deal back then because I have an aunt who was 16 when she had my cousin, and his dad was 22 at the time) then yes it definitely matters that while maybe wrong, it can not be judged in the same way as we would judge it now.

Nah I wish, I'm an average 6' white dude, 185 lbs, but I'm from the Balkans so I always had pretty decent athletic ability. I trained karate as a kid, got into tae kwon do in my teens, then went into jiu jitsu in my late teens after watching the first UFC. I always had a mind for that stuff but not the big bones or freak athletics of some of the guys I was training with, I was fairly aggressive as a youth, got into a fair amount of street fights, won and lost my fair share. Got better at fighting in my 20's but never had the dedication or discipline to fully stick with martial arts to the point of being exceptional, tho I did fairly well with the little effort I put into it, tended to win a bunch of tournaments mostly with aggression and confidence, but probably not the best technique in the wold.

In my 40's now, have not trained any martial arts in over a decade, but I'm in the gym steady and in good shape, feeling great, but age does it's thing so training much more smart and steady and avoiding crazy shit like whenI was younger ... more into things like bow hunting now, also shotgun, rifles, being out in nature, and living vicariously through my son who got his mom's Cuban genetics and will be a much better athlete than I was, and hopefully a lot smarter too.

Oh sure, 14 is pretty extreme, and probably a bit extreme even for that time period, and I can't imagine my adult self being attracted to any 14 year old. I don't even care to defend Jimmy Page, the guy was definitely a weirdo, into devil worship apparently, and of the 4 group members he was probably the most talented, but my least favourite. I still don't think what he did was as bad as the shithead who murdered a kid then made rap songs about it, but whatever.

I don't really agree. I think my counter argument would be that we think it's fucked up that people in some counties fuck and marry young teens now, but they could argue that it's normal in their culture and you have to judge them by that standard.
