Lightweight has always been the premier division in the UFC, but with Islam's departure (assuming he doesn't return) and older stars like Holloway, Gaethje and Charles either aging out or moving past their primes,

I'm going to say WW.

You now have Islam, Jack, with Belal, Shavkat, Garry, Brady and a whole host of up and comers nipping at their heels. It feels like there's a lot of life (and talent) in that division currently.

HW and LHW suck. MW has a few decent contenders (Imavov, Barralho) and the lower weight classes are always exciting. Very curious to see what Topuria's run at LW will look like.

What are your thoughts?

LW is filled with Divas, just ew

LWs
At least 30-40 killers
Just last week, we had Ribovic vs Brenner and Rebecki vs Duncan, which were crazy fights, and neither of those 4 guys has been ranked at any point
Ranked fighters are all talented, and (outside Chandler) neither of them is done. Guys have to be as exciting as Ruffy to fight with a ranked opponent. Even on a 5- or 6-fight winning streak, you struggle to have a ranked opponent
Makhachev had a good run, Tapturo vs Oliveira was exciting, Makhachev vs Topturo could be fireworks
+ Sadykhov vs Motta, the Torres, Zellhuber, and Bahamondes gave us good fights
+ some vets like Michael Johnson

What do you mean with best? The most fun to watch? Absolutely not.

Belal somehow became a champion (respect) but he's clearly not the typical 'top guy', Garry is the same and yeah, he's tecnical but how many fighters at this point haven't finished Neil Magny? Still Ian just couldn't get there which says something. I like Brady but that was a bad look to get finished by Belal, I guess shit happens though.

I wanna see a bit more from JDM before I decide on if he's truly world class. Shavkat and Islam have proven themselves to be, for sure.

Personal favourites are:

Bantam 1
Feather 2
Female straw 3
WW 4

UFC HW way down below every other division, including ONE FC's muay thai and kickboxing divisions.

It’s still lw and bw for me. WW is definitely heating up, but Topuria is making lw great again

I’d say WW bc of the potential exciting new matchups. Think of all the combinations.

Islam vs JDM, Shavkat, Brady, Garry

JDM vs Brady, Garry, Shavkat, Moraes

Shavkat vs Brady

Buckley vs Garry

The only fight I want to see at LW right now is Arman vs Ilia.

WW for me, LW looks good because there is a new blood there.
but I guess Ilia will lose to Arman badly and there will be no magic for LW.
the remaining LW's are mostly out of their prime

There was a time when the best UFC LW was Yves Edwards, definitely wasn't premier back then.

Currently imho the best are BW, WFLW and WSW

I think WW or BW right now.

LW is good and very top heavy, but its older guys and the there really isn't much from 6-15. There is not one exciting new contender in those rankings now.

LW is filled with Divas, just ew

Haha you're so right, however I admit I can't say anything because I was also being a diva last week when @helax failed to bring me those honey sriracha wings, remember during the last UFC

I was being a total diva about it, but at the time it felt justified.

yeah, LW seems to be the sweet spot. it's always been a shark tank, practically all the way back to the beginning.
