Do you really think that has ever been a deciding factor in Post WW2 American History. The only exception is NATO intervention in Bosnia and Kosovo that I reckon was altruistic.

Maduro is bad, but is he worse than Suharto, Saddam, Mao, Franco or any other of brutal despots that we did business with?

I support the US minding our own business and removing economic embargoes that were only given to Countries who wouldn't give us the economic austerity we wanted and constantly trying to overthrow their Governments to install puppet Governments.

To that end, the admiral overseeing this quit which is apparently HIGHLY unusual and US military personnel are talking to people (lawyers and shit?) about whether they have immunity, which is not a good sign.

Additionally, from what I've seen it sounds like Venezuelans wouldn't go quietly. Not all are armed but some are and aren't gonna roll over if they're invaded.

Sounds like a fucking disaster.

Plenty of US presidents are guilty of human rights abuses abroad and internally. The US is debatably the largest purveyor of terror post WWII. The Trump regime being perhaps the most notable internally in many moons.

Does another government have the right to overthrow ours because it sucks, is widely corrupt, and only serves the elite?

If they were “asylum seekers” they would have fled to Colombia (like in 2018/2019) from 2021 to 2024. Not America.

Source: Been traveling back and forth to Colombia since 2022. Talked to many Venezuelans.
