but when they do make changes, they're friggin huge and significant changes that are successful. Even after the Ezio trilogy, where it seemed like the series had pretty much done all it could do, they introduce an entire ship combat system for AC3, which could've been it's own game. Even in the modern games, it still kind of amazes me at how the ship combat(on that scale) is just a small part of the game, like a side activity.

Yeah they introduced ship combat in AC3, and then took it a step further in AC4 Black Flag (still my favourite AC). The ship combat in Black Flag was so good that Ubi tried to jump on it and create a brand new game based on it... Skull & Bones, but Ubi has taken so long to make it that it's doomed to fail horrendously.

Assassin's Creed: Odyssey

Well, my first big negative is that the big boss fights are fucking terrible. I saw this in the Medusa fight in "Odyssey", where their big clever maneuver is literally disappearing, and then reappearing somewhere where you have to get lucky to track them. That is such a cheap tactic to prolong a fight. The "Hyena" had it, and then this big stupid snake had it, and if I see it again, I'm gonna snap. It's lazy and annoying as fuck.

That said, I might be a bit burnt out on this. With "Odyssey" included, I'm going on 150 hours straight with this series. I see that "Castlevania: Advance Collection" on sale, and I'm thinking I might need such a pallet cleanser. So much sand...so many mountains...I think I need a break, LOL.

Needed sea of thieves to get my pirate fix. For as juvenile as that game is, was still lots of fun to play when running with a group of friends

Finished RE:Village this morning. Kind of split on this game. It started really strong going through the castle but the following areas were really short. The puppet house was creepy as hell, the fish dude was fine, then the werewolf part for the last flask seemed really rushed and just felt like I was blasting my way through.

The factory picked up again, but the enemies were kind of a chore. The Chris section was fun but frustrating as hell. The reload for his rifle would get interrupted super easily. Id reload the mag and get grabbed before I could chamber a round. Get free, create some distance, aim, hit R2 to fire........ Just kidding, you need to reload again.

This happened over and over again when getting swarmed while using the laser lock thing. My wife was laughing ate because I was getting irate at my computer.

Turned on infinite ammo for a hardcore NG+. Eager for some payback on some of the earlier areas.

Soul Hackers 2

I threw it in just to get some of those sweet sweet MS points, but it was actually pretty good. It's basically "Persona" filtered down to a dungeon crawler. I'd say it's a ripoff, but it's ATLAS, so can't blame them for ripping themselves off. I mean, every single battle mechanic is a straight rip from "Persona", and even a bunch of the character models are straight rips as well. It may as well be an offshoot(which it might be). Anyways, it's trippy and fun, and has a more "Pokemon" vibe, where everything comes down to collecting and fighting. Good sign when you're only playing it for a prize, but end up going further and actually playing the game for a while. Don't know how far I'll get, but it's a good little time waster.

Fired up Diablo IV today and hit level 13.

I've only put in a few hours and leveled up this much, is there a level cap in this game lol.

Fun so far. Pretty much like every other diablo game in the past... Not that it's a bad thing.

100 is the cap, and it takes a long time. After 50 it slows down a good bit

Read Dead Revolver. I'm on chapter 24 out of 27 and think I'm about to tap out and play RDR2 for the third time.

Also got NBA 2k23 for $6.99 and can't wait to play AEW Fight Forever on the 29th.

I got titanfall 2 for 5 bucks or something like that on steam and fired it up this weekend. Holy shit is it good I'm not a big FPS fan but damn this game is blowing me away. There's one level where the design is so fucking good if you've played you probably know which one I am referring too. easy 10/10 game for me

Trying to squeeze in a run of RE5 before FFXVI on Friday. I haven't it played it since the original launch and didn't think it really needed the remake treatment, but hot damn is this game hard to play after RE4Remake. The old school tank controls and no moving while aiming just has me crawling out of my skin.

Just a movent update would go a long way. I even went hunting for mods with nothing coming up. Graphically the game shows its age as it coming up on 15 years old, but it doesn't look terrible. The maps feel very grid based for being outside for the first half of the game.

I still want Code Veronica as the next remake, but RE5 would get a lot more benefit from a remake than I remember.

Out of town right now but looking forward to playing Alien Dark Descent when I get back.

Castlevania: Advance Collection

I bit the bullet. Couldn't resist. Started out with "HOD", and it's every bit as good as I remember it. It's the only game of the collection I've played before, and I remembered loving it. My memory was correct. It's amazing, and is essentially SOTN in terms of gameplay. Only minor complaint is that the 15fps or so, is a bit jarring. It plays slow, thanks to the GBA tech, but it all works. You just have to adjust a bit.

The extras are great as well. You can play it as is, or take advantage of some QOL improvements, like the ability to save anywhere. You got full screen, slightly altered letterbox, and pixel perfect(that's what I play) for display. Art books galore, a soundtrack mix option, encyclopedia, background options, international versions of all the games, and FOUR full games in this collection. If you're a "Castlevania" fan, this is a no-brainer. An embarrassment of riches.

Watch Dogs Legion. Got the ps5 version on ebay for 6 bucks. It's okay. I don't care for the play as anyone gimmick.

I am playing this.
It isn't that bad but I have this thing with heights so sometimes I take breaks. It is actually pretty fun until you fall down.

Titanfall 3 was 10 months in development before it got cancelled. Makes me very sad.
