See VG bros after the maintenance downtime. Wishing all white-knuckle gaming sessions in the interim.

Still playing Redemption Reapers. Apparently it's a love it or hate it, hence the average reviews. But it fluctuates between people rating it 0/10 and 10/10.

Some gameplay mechanics are questionable (to get loot, you gotta replay each level at least once - most of the times), but the enemies are so unforgiving to bad positioning and the animations / aesthetic is badass as fuck, I don't mind the grind.

Story is pretty good as well. There's an abundance of cutscenes and it's making me more involved in the story.

In addition to RR, I am playing:

Naraka Bladepoint (p4p Battle Royale GOAT)

Dark Souls 3 - I finished Sekiro thrice, Dark Souls one time, a ton of soulslikes such as Thymesia, tried to get into DS 2 but just couldn't, so I skipped straight to DS3. Next on the hitlist: Elden Ring

Ended up dropping Redemption Reapers, picking up Guardians of the Galaxy and finishing it in two days, and currently playing :

Naraka Bladepoint
Dark Souls 3
Spiderman: Miles Morales

I will retrurn to Redemption Reapers for sure, but I'd rather balance out Dark Souls and Naraka with something for arcadey and fun, as opposed to playing three difficult games simultaneously.

Recently got Divinity 2, loving it so far, played a good chunk of the first game but never finished it, this one feels a lot better so far but not exactly sure why.

Rocking a lvl 7 Lizard Conjurer/Druid type dude
Red Prince is a Pyromancer
Lohse is my Ranger
and Fane is my 2 Hander Necro Tank.

Been playing judgement and Returnal. Returnal is such an amazing game I just wish the story was a little more definitive as far as what's going on. There's like two or three main theories but nothing definitive. I love it though cause I can just dive in and start fighting. Think I'm going to work towards getting the plat in that game while I also work through judgement. I normally hate playing 2 SP games at once but Returnal is so gameplay heavy I don't mind including it in my rotation with Judgement.

Judgement has been great. I've been worried these new Yakuza games wouldn't be good since they are new MC's and not Kiryu but each game has been just as good. I'm also enjoying how much more serious Judgement is compared to the other games. I know people love how silly the games can be but I've actually never been a fan of that. Luckily most of it can be avoided.

Nintendo should sell Metroid to Sony. Returnal is proof that Sony can make a good Metroid game.

Playing AC3 remastered, the one set in Boston. Got it for free with some other AC game I don't remember which. So far I find it pretty horrible. The combat sucks, as does the animation. Just getting into the story which was complete dull at first but taking a turn for the better. For a remaster the graphics are mediocre and it is poorly optimized for PC. 3/10 thus far.

Working my farm on Stardew Valley. Started Year 3 with four candles. About 2/3rd of the villagers hearts are maxed.

Installed Cyberpunk again and loaded up an old save file. I had to jump down to an earlier save when I remembered that I didn't like Barry's outcome, but I may restart as I'm disassociated from the story. 16 Body, 20 Technical Ability and 20 Intelligence. I was actually doing a close-up-pacifist run, contagion, shock and overload to incapacitate, then executing only the most deserving. Combat feels different, everything feels more fluid, but I'm not sure if I can play like I used to (aka hide like a coward and spam contagion).

I also have Fight Night Champions installed. I'd love to be good at this game, but I haven't found a way to do so yet. Trying to sway and counter, but results are generally poor.

Just beat Callisto Protocol last night. 12h in total but I ventured into NG+ for a couple hours so around 10h for story.

Honestly, I kind of liked it. It's both over- and underproduced, which is something I liken to an indie AAA game, oxymoronically.

I enjoyed the soundscape + audio FX (Robocop vibes when opening/closing air-sealed doors – nice) and thought the crafting system making use of 3D printing to be awesome; they did that well. While uncreative, I also liked the story; thought of a minimum-effort plot twist myself that would have made it better and will spoiler below.

Warden's appeal at end-game revealing that you in fact have been following in Subject Zero's footsteps as Subject Alpha – not Ferris. Cool, right?

The thing that has me speechless is that you relive the same enemy encounter/fight for the entire 10h. I'm not embellishing for effect: You literally do the same thing from the first enemy to the last.

There's also scant little visual variety across, say, 4 enemy types and with that, it's all the same moveset anyway – even for bosses. And on the note, you fight the same boss, I don't know, 3-4 times. Then the final boss, who also has no moveset outliers. Roll credits. I would love to have been a fly on the wall in whatever meeting was had where developers were forced by stakeholders or then thought the backend economy of this approach made up for absolutely tanking player combat experience.

Weird game, I don't know. Traversal is also too slow and controlled for most of play. Glad I played it though as it's not my usual genre and I liked the later-game Gold trophies on offer.

I have it on steam. Do you recommend playing with a controller or m+k?

Been playing Control which is a game i got for free a while back on PS5 but never did anything with. Pretty fun so far with the telekinetic powers and the general strangeness of the game is keeping me on my toes. For someone who frightens easily it's fairly unnerving seeing the floating bodies, hearing the disembodied chatter and not knowing what otherworldly encounters to expect around the next corner. I don't think it's supposed to be a horror game but it's pretty scary nonetheless.

The destruction physics are really good with office shootouts resulting in paper flying through the air, monitors exploding with sparks, furniture losing splinters and chunks of concrete coming loose from the walls. The telekinetic powers are awesome being able to launch most objects and rip the floor up to use as a shield. I think there might be an upgrade for that power as well where you can then use the defensive rubble as an offensive projectile.

Only irritation so far is sometimes when you try and grab something telekinetically, you might end up grabbing something different which was very irritating when i did the obstacle course to get the shield power. I also just got the upgrade to catch rockets and explosives so i can see that being annoying as well if i try and catch a rocket 2 metres from my face and instead pull a fire extinguisher from the other side of the room.

Which one? Well either way I play both with controller. Judgement is 100% a controller game. Returnal actually might work better with mouse and keyboard because of improved aim. Wouldn't be a massive difference though because aiming in Returnal isn't that hard. The monsters are big and easy to hit but I think they do have weak points.

My mistake! I was talking about Returnal.

Lately, I've been going back to the Xbox 360 and playing EA Sports NCAA Football 11, haha. They are supposed to have a new one come out summer 2024, which will be about 10 years from the release of their last one, so hoping that ends up being cool and not just an EA half a** cash grab like most their products these days.

uggh. my video link no longer works and i'm too lazy to find somewhere else to upload it. disregard.

109 hours of starfield... Level 53. 83 percent of the achievements (would be 86 if it wasn't for that glitched Ryujin mission).

Think I need to put it down for a while till some dlc comes out and they fix some of these bugs.

Might download Mirage tomorrow. Looking forward to that FO76 expansion in a month too.

playing me some diablo 2 resurrected doing an uber run with my smiter and my merc managed to survive uber tristram. that really shouldnt have happened and i cant understand why. i dont even bother to throw good gear on the merc because they arent really supposed to survive ubers, they're supposed to get rolled over the moment uber mephisto even farts in their direction.

i mean i can do ubers in my sleep, but seeing a lower level low geared merc being able to take their abuse while i smited them down was something i wasnt expecting, and im still having a giggle over it.

every dog has its day, but sorry Waheed. it just wasn't your time to die.

Yeah, don't bet on it. They'll just re-skin the latest Madden, which is what they've been doing with Madden itself, since like 2016.

I got that game two weeks ago, started playing it late at night, was doing the tutorial, got to the dog fight, beat the first guy, then when there were two ships I got destroyed by the second and I haven't played since, haha. I want to get into it, but right now the problem is I don't really have any time so every time I think about playing, I think about how much time I have to put in just to learn how to do basic things like fly, and then everything on top of that is just time suck (I love Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout Series, etc., so I know how much time can fly by). Hoping to get some time one of these weekends to really dive in, it looks like a ton of fun.
