Ninja Gaiden 4

It's a Ninja Gaiden game, for sure. Platinum Games made this one, and while I can get some mild enjoyment out of it, this one is for the fans.

It's all a bit much for me, but it certainly feels like it will satisfy fans of the franchise. It's fast. It's brutal. It's Ninja Gaiden. A million combos to be mastered, with perfect precision required. There's a lot going on here. Your thumbs will be put to the test. It looks great, plays great, and the ballet of violence is plentiful. Got the same anime cheese vibe as the rest as well. Not for me, but if you're a fan, I think you'll be very happy.
That's good to hear as I was thinking of playing this one next. All the reviews I've seen have been pretty mediocre though.

Since it's the season, I'm playing OG Castlevania for the umpteenth time on the steam deck while I'm away for work. Im at Dracula atm. I keep forgetting what an arsehole he is to fight.

Also been playing a bit of Dead Estate on the SD too. It's pretty fun but I haven't gotten a lot of time into it yet.

Biggest A-hole Dracula goes to a combo of Dracula 3 and Dracula X

Picked up Silent Hill 2 remake for PS5. Had it on my wishlist forever and it seemingly was never going on sale, but browsing through the weekly PSN sales saw the “deluxe edition” was 50% off so I picked it up. May play through that and Resident Evil 2 remake interchangeably for the remainder of the Halloween season.

Was going to tackle either Wukong or Khazan but ended up going with Path of Exile 2. Didn't really delve into 1 but heard greats things. ARPGs are some of my favs of all time so decided to pick up POE2.

Will report back after minimum 100 hrs!

The Outer Worlds 2 is sounding quite tasty. Early reviews seem to be very positive, with most saying they fixed a LOT of what made the first game a bit of disappointment to folks like me. Day 1 tomorrow on Game Pass. I'll be there. Here's hoping it can meet the standards that the original was supposed to.

I loved the first planet in OW1 and then it fell off hard for me. Even now I'm not quite sure why. I'll be getting this one eventually but at a deep discount.

Just rolled credits on the true ending of Hades 2. Just like how the first game got its hooks into me - 120 hours gone in the blink of an eye. Incredible game

I like old retro games and have been having fun playing Battlezone 2000 on Atari Lynx.

A general lack of depth in it's systems. The writing was on point, but that was about it. It showed you all of it's cards in the first 5-10 hours, and then just got boring. The combat was fine, but repetitive. The armor and weapons were very basic, and made no effort on the cosmetic side of things. The skills and perks were also very basic, and they even went the extra mile to make your skills even more stock, in having you just upgrade your major skills. There wasn't much in terms of tinkering with your build, past some upgrades that altered some minor skills. The crafting was also phoned in.

In general, it wasn't a bad first effort, but it felt like a very safe and restrained first effort.
