I bought it on release, played it with none of the issues others were having but stopped at some mission where I remember there being a big flying dragon and some Asian boss as a street kid.

No idea how close I was to the end, but I remember enjoying it at the time. I want to get a steam deck and play my way through a heap of games I did that with. I just rebought RDR2 on PC after playing it for a bit on Xobox on release and getting bored.

My time sink game has been Rust but i legit only enjoy building bases. I can't bring myself to grind anymore online, I just want stuff I can pop in and out of.
That was the parade, and you're pretty far into the game, at least the main storyline. I try to do as much as I can, so got to the end of that storyline and went and continued doing all of the side stuff, took another two weeks to truly get to the end. They're adding more content to the game in the next couple of weeks, so if you're getting a Steam Deck and starting from square one, good timing, imo

Yeah I sat on it for years after pre-ordering but hearing the initial reactions. I finally played it last year and thought it was an easy 10/10, amazing game
Truly is comparable to GTA in the future. I guess some don't like the comparison, but I love those games, too, and it's mostly the best way for me to describe it.

I really enjoyed kicking the absolute shit out of Adam Smasher multiple times. Dude was a complete dick. Will never forgive him for what he did to Saul

I'm about 15 hours into Kingdom Come 2 Deliverance. Characters are interesting, open world is beautiful, very immersive.

Probably is a little too immersive, borderline tedious. As someone who only plays for about an hour to an hour and a half a day, I don't know how much more time I'm going to put into this. I feel like I've accomplished almost nothing after 15 hours.

I'm near the end of KCD2 now and I can understand how you feel. I had to stop thinking about "what have I actually got done" and instead just focused on getting things done period. I'd focus one quest and get it done as much as I could and move on. Next thing I knew I had finished all the SQ in the area and it was about 28 hours. I skipped some of the "tasks". At this point I've just been doing only main quest because all the side quest just seem boring and not as connected to the main quest as they were in the first area.

Nioh 2 is blowing me away the more and more it opens up and the more I explore the combat. I've pretty much been tearing through everything and now I'm focusing on switching stances with my glaive during combos as well. Was very glad to see the 5th boss was so damn easy. I always kind of get a nice since of relief when I realize a souls game is throwing you an "easy" boss at the end. Didn't plan on beating the 5th boss last night cause I assumed it would take me million tries but I did it easily after about 5.

Beat Streets of Rage 4 last night.

Fun walk down memory lane. So much of it reminds me of Double Dragon on NES.

I had to use an assist code for the final stage for one extra life because for every screen they throw everything at you + the kitchen sink, then you have to face the two final bosses at the same time for a three-phase FU merry-go-round. Joke's on me because I was able to finally beat them without needing the extra life but still ate the score penalty for the assist. SMH.

I don't know how younger us beat all these older games. They're hard AF.

Forbidden West

My god this game thinks you're stupid.

"I'm outside the temple, I've got to get inside the temple"
"I need to get inside the temple"
"The temple is in front of me, I need to find a way inside"
"I'm outside the temple, I've got to get inside the temple"

I GET IT, STFU! WTF DO YOU THINK I'M TRYING TO DO?!?!?!?

Also, holy collect-a-thon, I'm going to wear out the triangle button.

Aside from that I'm liking it so far. The fact that it has Las Vegas is pretty awesome. I found the Stratosphere today and am looking forward to seeing how faithful they are to the real city. I like how they actually refer to it by it's real name. I feel like you don't see that a lot in games like this for whatever reason.

I just finished the Witcher 3 again (and both DLCs)

Oh my lands, what a game this is.

The characters, environments, quests, gameplay, soundtrack, dialogue and the whole world is everything a Witcher game should aspire to be. This has one of the bleakest, yet best open worlds I have explored and Blood & Wine just added to it. This is also a game where choices matter. I await the Witcher 4, but am curious to see how they will top the Witcher 3. Their engine looks great, and I am hoping Ciri's story can live up to our time spent with Geralt.

Seeing Geralt and Yen in Toussaint is the perfect end to their story.

I’m confused by your post. Can you clear this up? Your post makes it sound like SoR 4 is really old. Did you mean that it reminds you of games from the past? 4 only came out a few years ago.

Yeah, beat-em-up Double Dragon vein and why I’d singled out Axel because I remember him from an older SoR game in the same wife beater. His char model actually reminded me of Ken from OG SF in this.

4 is SO GOOD. Only missing 5 achievements so I need to replay it soon

First time playing for me. I was looking over the trophy list last night and the word brutal sprang to mind. I’ve respect for your accomplishing some 85% of them. Which of the five outstanding you reckon hardest? Did you unlock the 100 Yen one? Because that and Maniac are real nutcrackers, IMO.

You on steam? I'd love to play, my dude.

As far as missing achieves, they are the 5 hardest.

I am the One
100 Yen
Perfect
Maniac
The Possibilities are Endless

I'm on PS but update me if you earn any of these. Top-level play!

Picked up NHL25 for $20. The passing is game breaking atrocious. If you use the directional pad it goes exactly where you dont want 95% of the time. It takes a full second for the icons to pop up to use icon passing. $20 down the drain

Yeah, those games are stupid, and have never been good ever since they introduced "total control" with the analog sticks. I seriously do not understand how people get good at them.

Anyways...

Metaphor - Re-Fantazio

Still plugging away. Mostly good, but the way it's handing out skills is getting a bit irritating. I know it's probably going to be unlocked later down the road, because it's how ATLAS does it's thing, but this game is really pissing me off with the inability to change archetypes during battle. It's infuriating. You can't possibly know what class compliments another, until you fight. You open up new classes all the time, and you naturally want to experiment with them. Problem is, when you do, you might just mix and match them wrong. This problem is magnified when you just run into battles after like 30 minutes of cutscenes. You could've just allocated your party with new skills, and then get completely fucked by some random battle in the midst of all the storytelling. I almost just quit the game because of this absolute bullshit. Beat the big first chunk of the game, and get locked into a million cutscenes, as is the ATLUS way of doing things. Forgot to save during some downtime, and then out of nowhere, I'm in a fight with characters that I've just given new archetypes to experiment with. Get murked, with no way to just retry the fight with different skills. No. You have to go ALL the way back and change up your party, and pray(along with save at the last possible moment before the fight you didn't know was gonna happen, is triggered) that your party is properly equipped to handle it.

It's absolute nonsense that you can't change jobs on the fly during battle right out of the gate. I don't even know if it's a skill you unlock down the road, but I can practically guarantee that it is, given that the game BEGS for it. A simple warning and save option before a fight where you can change up your party would suffice. As is, you can just get fucked by this horseshit.

I really do like how ATLAS does it's progression, but this is one ability that should be there from the very start. It would make the game so much better right out of the gate.

That's exactly why I stopped playing games like that. I only play from 11:00 PM to 12:00 or 12:30 AM each evening. I hate the feeling that I've accomplished nothing during a session. I think 15 to 20 hours is the sweet spot for me. Action and horror games are usually around that length which is probably a good reason why they're among my favorite genres. They tend to respect the time of players and not have too much bloat. My two most anticipated games in the second half are Ninja Gaiden 4 and Silent Hill f and I'm expecting that length from them.

I've been playing indie after indie. Not much interests me this summer except for Wuchang Fallen Feathers and possibly that Mafia game since I've heard it's more linear and not open world.

Platinumed Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo. Really fun game if you enjoy metroidvanias and games like the old Zeldas. A lot of creativity went into it.

I also just recently bought Lost in Random : The Eternal Die. This game is a blast, surprised me by how well it's made. There's a surprising amount of depth to the builds you can make. I think it might be my favorite roguelike since Hades. I recommend it if you're into those games.

I also just bought Soulstone Survivors because the demo from a month ago was really enjoyable and I see myself sinking a lot of time into it on my Portal. If you like Vampire Survivors give it a try. There's a demo. The reviews on steam are great too.

Was hammering Roboquest for a few weeks there, such a fun roguelike, the combat is so good, fun abilities/upgrades etc.

Started Nine Sols a few days ago, excellent metroidvania game, similar vibes to hollow knight with a great parry system kind of like a 2d sekiro in ways.
