Consider a genre switch-up. There are games for literally all ages and mindsets.
Mmm.

In the past few weeks I’ve tried

Undisputed
Cyberpunk
Dark souls 3
Downloaded my RDR2 again
Deathloop
Wu Kong trial
Sekiro

and wasn’t partial to any tbh ….

Fired up bannerlord again. Nearly 500 play hours and eagerly awaiting the summer Viking DLC.

Always funny on games like this where you turn it on and think “what was I doing again…..”

Turns out I had assembled an army of mounted heavy cavalry units and was raiding the Roman Empire. The army is hilariously over powered.

I got dropped into a 2k vs 4k field battle, my squad being 280 mounted archers. Accumulated 278 kills individually and 893 and a unit. 3 casualties to my squad.

I sent my unit to pepper with arrows and maintain a distance to the enemy while I went full kamikaze and speared 7 soldiers in one charge with a lance, then took out my massive 2 handed cleaver and began chopping hundreds of soldiers in half.

Even nailed their general with an arrow from about 150 meters away dismounting him from his horse. Of course I charged through is 4 lines of infantry to stab him in the throat before he saw me coming.

*sips coffee* that one hit the spot.

Just installed Jedi: Survivor with an application file north of 150 GB. Now that's what I call galactic. *nyuck-nyuck Seriously though, 2x what I'd expected. Huge. Enjoyed Fallen Order but been a few years now; excited to fire up tonight.
Let me know how this goes, have been eyeing this one for a bit. It’s one of those ones where I kind of always question Star Wars titles because I find them to be so hit or miss.

"Jedi Survivor" is a hit. It's so underrated. I think it ran into some issues at launch and was rather buggy, but it's great now. It was one of the more complete cinematic adventures I've played in a long while. Doesn't re-invent the wheel, but man, it's so good. "Fallen Order" had a lot of issues, and JS corrected all of them, and built upon it. Personally, it's up there for GOTY for whatever year that was.

Heretic is on point. Jedi Survivor surpassed my expectations quite a bit. It's the best Star Wars game ever made if you ask me, and the story is better than any of the recent movies.

The story gripped me from go and I’m only about 90m in. Opening cinematic plays like a short film and the combat feels tight. Like Heretic said, an upgrade in every way from FO. I may need up the difficulty one level to add a little more intensity, though. I’m feeling strong or more comfortable than I should this soon, IMO.

Oh shit really? Might have to splash on it at some point.

Ok sweet. I do like some cinematic games as long as the gameplay while not always being as expansive as a non cinematic game is at least engaging and fun.

I’ll add it to the list, will probably wait for a sale on that one.

It's free, bud. You have PS Extra?

Tried to get into some of the more recent Halo games. I was actually getting into "Halo 5", but the cloud kept fucking up with it, and it's like the only game I've come across that has such issues on the cloud. It's not worth the download, so bye bye. Even the cloud doesn't like that game, LOL. Tried out "Halo Infinite" again, but it's way too frantic for me. You gotta be pretty decent at shooters with this much verticality and freedom. I'm just strafing left and right and jumping around, but this game wants me to be an expert with the grapple hook and be flying around all over the place while maintaining my aim. It's too much for me. Skill checked me right the fuck out. Not bad, just way above my paygrade.

After that, I settled into something more my speed. Crime Scene Cleaner. It felt very tedious at first, but once you get a handle on how things work, you can settle into a good routine. Only played the first scenario, which was great. It's one of those stupid, yet addictive "sim" games, like "Power Wash Simulator", but it has an actual story, and the environments themselves have a lot of secrets to discover in between holding the button and watching the blood/dirt disappear. It's a neat little game that takes this weird "simulation" genre a few steps forward.

I completed this last night. Great little game, I felt kind of sad that I'd finished it. Hopefully they release some DLC, I'd be all over it

Edit: just had a look and the developers are still working on the game and planning to release new missions, and the option of modifiers/challenges applied to existing levels. And it's all gonna be free

Back into BG3, I didn't play very far originally so I started a new but similar run. Already murdered Astarion and sexed Lae'zel so I'm on my way. Also, knocked out Minthara and stole all her shit.

That and a bunch of Balatro on my phone during meetings at work.

There are far better games than Yakuza though. Have you played Stray ? Hollow Knight ?

Blasphemy!

Yakuza is my all time favourites series! The story! The characters! The hard hitting moments and the humour! The fighting! The mini-games! The replacement for a childhood burning desire for a then unannounced Shenmue 3!

Last game that I tried was Atomfall. I wanted to like it, but the combat did my head in.

But that’s almost every game of that type ….

Just finished the story for Days Gone.(story is ok , 7.5/10, little glitchy on my end).

It has some of the best movement/shooting mechanics out of any game I've played.

Probably going to get the dlc as well.
