What are Jones' best wins in your opinion?

For me, the most impressive are:

- Cormier: because it was the highest level opponent Jones faced.
- Gus: because it showed Jones has heart and is an absolute dog.
- Machida: because it showed Jones's ability to adapt on the fly.
- Glover: because Jones dominated Glover in his own game.

Undoubtedly Shogun. People say Shogun was washed but ignoring nobody besmirched him to that level again. Shogun has been caught and TKOed but h was simply far outclassed and embarrassed in that fight. It’s a tossup between Machida and Bader for number 2. He beat Bader so badly all Bader could do was try to protect himself from injury the entire fight. It worked but Bader got worked. Machida looked like a far more impressive looking win but he was also far more game than Bader. Gane looked like a work it was so effortless. I don’t rank that fight because he made it look so easy I struggle in believing Gane was that easily handled

For me I think Shogun, Machida, and the decision vs Cormier are his best wins. Testing wasn't great during this era so even if he was juicing, his opponents had the chance to do the same, so it was fair-ish.

I'm not impressed with his win over rampage because he went into full eye-hunter mode. Same thing vs Rashad and Glover.

And I'm not that impressed with his wins during the era where he was juicing but his opponent was not. Which was most of the usada era.

At HW I'm a little impressed with his win over Gane. I think Gane is a quality fighter and very dangerous.

Not impressed at all with that fiasco vs old retired Stipe
probably dc1. He was way bigger than rua and machida and gane basically beat himself

Alexander Gustafsson (both fights), DC 1, Lyoto Machida, Shogun, Glover Teixeira, Cyril Gane, Thiago Santos and Stipe Miocic
LOL I was with you until you said Stipe. The dude that was already old, then got KTFO, then sat on his couch for 3 years, suddenly gets a title shot? How the hell are you impressed with that one?

No, Stipe was on point that night. Even Tom said, in the TNT fight lab, that he didn't think Stipe looked old or off. Instead, Tom stated (look for TNT fight lab) that he was impressed Stipe still had the conditioning to fight until round 3 after that round 1 breakdown... That he legit didn't expect for that.

In fact, many analysts point out specifics about Stipe having a better timing there than he had in his last 3 previous fights, accounting for specific data on timing, speed measurement and head movements in rounds 2 and 3, like his first attempted strikes before the takedown, info on his BPM being comparable to the one he had vs Ngannou (first fight, available on X from screenshots taken in recap analysis)..
His head movement being taken from the round two stances he dodged Jon Jones's jabs, measured to have the same speed they had vs Gus and DC 1.

So yes, that was not a washed Stipe, in fact if you dig some post fight interviews, who are tough to find due to YouTube algorithm, Stipe said he felt better in that fight, both physically and mentally, than in his last fight vs Ngannou, and his fights vs DC, citing the lay off allowing him to get a good recovery to maximize his training so he could get into a good shape and the right motivation for a fight vs someone he cited that, besides a third match with Ngannou, was the one who would make him fight and train heavily again. He said he wasn't even caring about the belt or money that much as he was caring to fight and beat JJ. He said his lack of promo or anything had also to do with a desire to just show up and shut everyone up shut everyone up and also, bring the pressure upon JJ so a loss to him would have way more weight... He joked that "but in the end those fans end up seeing me as old and washed anyways haha but I know that who really understands of MMA wouldn't think that".

I am bringing facts, if you just mock the answer, ok, I won't waste time because I'm not interested in what people convince themselves as the case as I am about a real in depth and logical analysis, which heavy layered evidence supports. Whether you think it's BS tho, whatever. To each his own.

The 13 month span where he beat 4 former champions in a row losing only one round as a 23 years old is the most impressive and historically significant when put back in its context.

However, if we look at who were the best fighters he beat when he beat them, I think it rather clearly DC, Gus and Glover.

Cormier.

I think if Jon didn’t exist, we’d be talking about how DC is GOAT. Nobody but Jon touches him at LHW ever and he was also a damn good HW.

Probably his first DC fight. That was an older but still very dangerous DC.

Gus was also a good win

Cormier.

Well, DC did have a close fight with Gus.

Who Jones also happened to beat twice ...

Shogun fans were out in full force before the fight on here. Got real quiet afterwards.

has NOBODY mentioned Rampage? That was a great version of Rampage and he got completely shut down and finished. I'd rank it right there with the Shogun and Machida wins. Jones was clearly very respectful/fearful of Rampage as an opponent.

Shogun is so underrated. He was probably past his best, but he'd just blown Machida away, who was considered untouchable at the time, and was clearly the best 205er of all time before he fought Jones.

TS has it right. Shogun, Machida and Cormier are his biggest and best wins.

His best wins:

- Hiding under the cage for 10 hours. USADA lost that one clearly.

- “Picograms” Making his delusional fans believe that he was clean against Gus 2

- “Ducking Tom” Again, making his fans believe that he’s not ducking Tom and has no reason to fight when his “legacy” has already been cemented

Well, DC did have a close fight with Gus.

It’s funny you say that because Jones also had a very close fight with Gus once. It was so close, many (not me) said he lost it. Lots of great fighters had close fights and still won. I think DC is a super elite fighter
