Weidman was never winning until he lost

Undefeated before USADA. 1-4 after USADA. That is all.

Actually it is not all.

USADA didn't kill Weidman, he was just never that good. It's not like he became worse post-USADA. Slow, sometimes sloppy striking, being hittable, cardio issues - it was always there, but there wasnt anyone to capitalize on it. His wins against Silva made some people thought he's some kind of an invincible phenom, despite his obvious flaws.

Weidman was and still is a limited fighter, a craftsman who lacks the X factor or a special talent. He was just never at the level of Yoel, Jacare or Luke.

Weidman can still beat anybody, at any given time.

And yes, he was winning all of those fights.

Not the one against Gastelum, but he didn't lose that one.

And I hate him for that :( Gastelum is still my boy <3

He was winning against Luke by being down 10-9, 10-9 and 10-8 on the judges scorecards?? I like that concept of winning, lose the first three rounds but you're still winning.

Back when Weidman was champ, and he was fighting washed up Brazilians. The best MWs in the world were Like, Yoel, Jacare and Moose. He never would have beaten them and was never better than them.

The universe has just finally un-fucked itself and Weidman has been moved back to his correct spot.

So he was losing until he lost?

<mma4>

Losing vs Luke
1-1 with Yoel
Moose was winning the whole second round until the knee
Gastelum won the 1st round
Jacare won the 2nd round

He isn't unlucky. He is simply not a top 5 material.
It's been awhile since since I've Rockhold/Weidman, but the round was pretty even until the spinning kick, iirc.

Moose was getting the best of him and he may have even finished him if Weidman was able to continue. Hell, even in the first round, Moose was winning the standup and Weidman did nothing in the ground.

Weidman started off good in the third round, but Jacare started to turn the tide and ended to finishing him.

It's silly to say he's not top 5 though.

He's still top 10 and looked pretty damn good against Jacare who is a beast. Fantastic fight. He doesn't have the best fight IQ but he isn't a bad fighter by any means because he lost to any of those guys.

And I'm not sure why you included Gastelum when Teh Chris won that fight.

Except on the judges scorecards where it Actually counts. He was winning.

If he truly is "winning until he loses" then why hasn't he learned that he has to finish the fight before the other fighter does?

Riding the clock out isn't working for him.

Finish the fucking fight.

No matter how much you deluded, retarded SIlva fans want it to be, you can't erase the brutal finishes Weidman has over your idol.

Get the fuck over it. It's been 5 years. Jesus Christ. Get help. You all need it. That shit isn't healthy.

Winning what? It was 1-1 and Jacare was starting to turn it up right before the KO. The fight was even and he got KTFO. End of story.
Your fantasy score card doesn't count, he was up 20-18 officially that's winning.

Im calling it the "Holly Holm" syndrome.

Holly beat ronda and then took a bit of a nose dive.

Second fight WASNT a brutal finish. It was a freak accident.
First fight was a clean cut KO.
Still...Wideman got his ass KOd by Jacare....in addition, he WONT be in the UFCs top 5 of all time.
Anderson will be and already is.

Weidman will still have 2 finish wins over Anderson Silva, doing what no one else in the UFC could do up to that point.

That still doesnt make him a top 5 UFC fighter of all time tho. Sure, its a great highlight, but even Matt Serra has a win over GSP and GSP has been considered THE greatest UFC fighter of all time and in no way is Serra considered top 5 or even top ten.

That still doesn't change the fact he brutally knocked out SIlva and broke his leg in the 2nd fight. That's the whole point.

Weidman showcased crisp striking there was a point in the second round were Jacare realized Chris was going to win unless he made it ugly. I think it’s more of a testament to Jacare than to say Weidman gassed or quit. Jacare just wouldn’t be denied and he took a lot of shots to land his own. It was a great fight.
