Losing vs Luke
1-1 with Yoel
Moose was winning the whole second round until the knee
Gastelum won the 1st round
Jacare won the 2nd round

He isn't unlucky. He is simply not a top 5 material.

He waa clearly losing the overall fight against Yoel too, even though they were 1-1 in rounds

Weidman "won" the first round on the basis of Yoel doing absolutely nothing because he was gauging Weidman's speed and timing. Second round he got outstruck, easily outgrappled and ended the round on his back eating G&P.

Nah, Weidman in the first 2 Rd is as good as any MW on the planet.

I question is Mental toughness tbh.

Need to get is confidence back imo.

Yes, thank you. His fans are delusional. He lost those fights because he was the inferior fighter, while losing those fights.

Great thread. He won the first round against Moose and Yoel. Lost the 2nd rounds and momentum and then got finished. How his fans have spun that I don't know.

Silva was never winning until he lost against Weidman, both fights.

He was winning until USADA
Agreed. I think one of Chris's most glaring issues is his cardio post-USADA.

Although he doesn't seem like the type that cuts overwhelming weight, as my wrestling coach saids it, some people can cut more weight than others.

Also, his style is based on pressure, which probably isn't the most ideal given his propensity to gas out by round 3 in most of his fights post-USADA.

Still haven't gotten over those two Anderson beatings, huh?

He should avoid strikeforce fighters. Maybe he has learned his lesson

He blows his load winning the first rounds and then falls apart after that. But other than staggering jacare in the first, weidman has never been close to finishing those who finished him

I have seen people post weigh-in pictures to try to say there isn't a difference, but I definitely see a difference come fight time. The Vitor fight is the first one where he looked noticeably smaller in the cage to me. Maybe it is just the IV ban so he can't cut as much rather than the special sauce. He has never tested positive so I guess he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

He's a good, not great fighter.
Those that claimed him as Goat MW after the 2 wins vs. Silva are having a hard time releasing his testicles.
That's cool though, "He's still their Boy"!

Chris WAS winning by picking him apart, slightly though.

Chris gets the silver though.

Second place isn’t too bad.

Weidman can still beat anybody, at any given time.

And yes, he was winning all of those fights.

Not the one against Gastelum, but he didn't lose that one.

And I hate him for that :( Gastelum is still my boy <3

Winning what? It was 1-1 and Jacare was starting to turn it up right before the KO. The fight was even and he got KTFO. End of story.

He sure has fought all top competition. Doesn't look like he's going to get the belt again. Maybe they should give him a fight outside top ten... Which most likely won't happen. Mw is stackkkked

You’re right, he’s not top 5; he’s #6 of his era. At very worst.

Funnily enough, the 7th best of this era - and a guy Chris wrecked fairly recently - is fighting for the title next.

However, when “this era” (the “post A Silva” era) started, he was #1. And he stayed there until Luke knocked him off the mountain.
