The US already has a deal in place and can pretty much do what they want in regards to military build up in Greenland. If its so important why have they reduced their numbers there from over 5k to 200…?
Its a resource grab. Plain and simple. Just like Venezuela.
Worse yet, it's purely about Trump's ego. He merely wants America to "expand" during his reign, and to have his name attached to that expansion in the history books, and Greenland is the only viable option. Even if it's mostly just a frozen wasteland that the U.S. hasn't cared about in a hundred years.
It's pure hubris, by far the worst "side quest" that he's been involved in throughout his presidency. He'd do himself, his country and everyone else a service by putting an end to this act of lunacy, never mentioning it again and moving onto much more tangible issues that the U.S. is facing.
