You got to respect his fighting skills. He can be cringe on the mic but he's a generational talent and has elevated the MW division. I don't understand the extreme hatred (MMA Guru is shitting his pants) but whatever. He's locked himself a spot in the MMA HOF and he finally got the win against Pereira.
 
Always respected him in the cage. His mouth is what bothered me and caused me to celebrate to oblivion, when he lost.

But, he was on point tonight.
 
Izzy is one of the most overrated champs ever. Lost to Yoel pretty clearly, lost a close 2nd fight to Whittaker (IMO). Was getting dominated by Alex tonight and got a hail Mary KO. They talk like he is one of the best ever when he very clearly isnt

Yeah, Brad Tavares and Martin Tevorri are crazy wins.
 
Props to Izzy for getting the win in dramatic fashion, earlier in the fight than any previous fights with Alex. I think he was a combination of being a bit hurt there (legs), but instilled a little "Rope-a-dope" (Cage-a-dope?) strategy too.

I was on edge the whole fight and pretty much had guaranteed myself that Izzy was going to get wrecked again, probably late in the 3rd or early 4th. I think he knew he needed to end it earlier if he was going to win and was willing to go out on his shield to do it.

I definitely like back against the wall, aggressive Izzy, a lot more than coasting, point-fighting Izzy.

Yep, he came in with a mission and bit down on his mouth piece and took care of business. Izzy is a great fighter when someone pushes him to be; still one of the most cringe fights in all regards aside from the first to last bell
