Was Ryan Couture Thrown to the Wolves?

I don't think so. People overrate Ross here.

Couture even won the first round and was doing good in the second. Yes I thought he was gonna lose but still. Like some people here have pointed out I don't think Ross is that far up from Noons. I think Pearson losses to Josh Thompson and Jorge Masvidal as well.

I know Dana White and Randy Couture have had their differences lately, do you reckon Dana "threw" Randy's son to the wolves by giving him a fight against such a dangerous opponent on his UFC debut???

no. that's silly.

Take the fight or refuse the fight.... Ryan's a big boy now and can make his own decisions.

Pearson wasn't the problem Couture's ancient style that his dad perfected was the problem.

Ryan will fight his two more fights and move over to Bellator.

If he was smart he'd ask Dana a shot on TUF, there's a lot of guys there with better records and skill sets that benefit from the exposure.

He was doing alright before he got laid out, however that may have been due to Pearson's foot injury. It was a pretty tough fight for his UFC debut, but he did decent.

There aren't many easy fights in the ufc and Ryan just got exposed as being the worse fighter.

Yeah, he was. I hated it in how he was used to pad some middling Brit TUFer's record, but other than that it was hilarious.

Noons got KTFO by Krazy Horse. Glassjaw Pearson KTFO by Cole Miller. Equally embarassing, I would say.

thrown to the wolves?

he got co main status because of his last name, if he felt as though it was not a good fight he should not have taken it. if it was about anything more than that the ufc would have cut him after the loss.

When did this happen?

Swanson is the only person to ko Pearson and he has pretty decent power. Id say his Jaw is fine.

Call the KJ Noons fight a bad decision all you want, he won the fight in the end.

With that end result I don't think a fight against Ross Pearson was that bad. Pearson did get a big victory though in his last one so it was a tad bit odd. But I also don't think it was a conspiracy against Couture.

Hardly a noteworthy accomplishment, since Noons hasn't been the same ever since Nick Diaz beat his ass in their rematch.

To me Noons > Pearson.

Just how I see it.

Either way this fight wasn't a gimme for Ross.

Maybe if Randy was stll in good books his son could have got an easier fight, but maybe not.

Couture fighting Pearson in his first fight does seem like he was thrown to the wolves. Experience alone Pearson has a huge advantage as he has fought some of the most deadly guys at 155 while Couture's toughest opponent was Noons where he had a lackluster performance.
