Was anyone in UFC history statistically as dominant as Khabib?

very dominant

Wondering if these are records at time of fight or career?
GSP's first 15 fights at the time of each fight
219-46

29 people tried, from scrubs to top 5 in the world and in-between, they all lost.

Khabib will always be a "what if" no matter what his nut huggers say.
Has a weak, padded resume. Retired too early. He's not a top 5 GOAT imo.
People hold onto the undefeated thing way too much.
He fought weak competition almost his entire career and never fully challenged himself.
Who cares.

He’s the only one to never get his ass kicked. Faced shit competition though

He fought 3 elite guys. Most padded resume out of anyone considered a GOAT.

Also I'm glad that this style of 'fighting' is beginning to be recognised as... Not fighting, by the UFC.

Khabib did ground and pound and try to (and get the...) sub a lot, but he also did a lot of just... wrapping people up and holding them.

I feel like these numbers don't mean too much anyway cos you get guys like Hughes x 2 on GSPs list who's record was something mad like 40 wins which then get added Highlander styler to GSPs accomplishments.

I think it's just good for showing they weren't all cans but you only need one or two guys like that on your resume to really boost the figures.

Back when Machida was evasive and elusive the commentators didn't think anyone could solve the puzzle and the Machida era had begun.

I think he went 7-0 in the UFC, took the belt and probably hasn't lost a round until Shogun, barely got touched before that fight.

Minute-to-minute, Khabib is the most dominant MMA fighter of all time due to his pressure-based and smothering style.

However, Khabib is not a serious GOAT contender in my mind. He only fought 13 times at the top level of the sport, his run of three title defences is certainly impressive but a long way short of the best, he did not clear out the division (or even face half of the top ten), he did not test himself outside of LW, and he walked away aged 31.

You see, my dear Shermanos, bathtubbers like TS start such Kabeeb-virtual-fellatio threads but will then, in a second, counter any counter-argument which says otherwise with: „bro is retired since 2021 and he is still rent-free in your head because he beat your boy“.

Khabib was clearly the best LW of his time. Clearly. Lets see!

He beat everyone on his way up, like #8 RDA, #6 MJ, #4 Barboza and some who didn’t deserve to fight Khabib, like Horcher who only was brought in to replace injured Tony Ferguson.

Khabib was supposed to fight Tony again, but Tony tore his knee apart tripping on a cable (while wearing sunglasses inside, yea?). #12 Iaquinta replaced Tony and got beaten to hamburger meat standing while offering nothing in return. For some reason this wasn’t impressive to Rogan, lol

Then he finished Poirier and Gaethje who had beaten up everybody in the division. Who else was Khabib supposed to fight? He smashed his way to the title and defended against the best guys available. His father dying unexpectedly had an effect on him retiring early, so who knows what would’ve happened of he didn’t. But… Who would have challenged him? Oliveira was just climbing his way up and finished #7 ranked Kevin Lee when Khabib easily finished Gaethje and vacated.

Olives was on a 7 fight win streak at the time Kabeeber fought Justin and was ranked #5 and later destroyed both, Justin and Dustin, faster than Kabeeber did.

One who is not biased could very well argue that Charlie could have challenged him.

On a 7 fight streak, sure, but who did Oliveira beat during that streak? #7 Lee was his best win and that was 2020 when Khabib retired later in 2020.

Khabib was on 28 fight win streak at the time

- only lost two rounds officially on the scorecards in his 13 ufc fight run, both were kind of BS, he nearly subbed Gaethje in the round he "lost" and battered Conor on the feet in the third round he lost.
- the most 10-8 rounds in UFC history
- ran over prime RDA, Dustin, Justin, Conor and Edson

In Jon's first 13 he got dq'ed to Matt and Jones lost several rounds to Gus, Evans, and even Bonnar and Gusmao
