My choice for Horus Lupercal would be Joel Edgerton.

I think he could pull off loyalist Horus and corrupted Horus.

He was miscast as Pharaoh but I still liked Exodus of Gods and Kings and liked his performance.

Heavy is the head that wears the title Warmaster.

I don't see him as Horus one bit. He can act, yes, but I feel he would do better as Ferrus or Perturabo. Horus was a bit more refined than Joel.

For Big E's right hand Malcador the Sigilite I would cast Lance Henriksen because he should be in every movie and has an awesome voice and presence.

I would agree before I saw him as Pharaoh. Again Exodus of Gods and Kings is a flawed movie but if you ever catch it on tv I would recommend checking it out.

Also we need to remember that all the primarchs were a sight to behold, imposing, and all of them were beautiful, even if in some of them like Angron, Kurze or Mortarion it was distorted.

A lot of these I agree with.

I was struggling with Dorn but Brolin is good.
I didn't even think of Hiddleston but he would be a good Curze.
Mads has to be in the movie so unless I can think of a better part for him Mortarion works for me.
I could see Cillian pulling off Lorgar especially with his pale blue eyes and a bald tattoed head.
Idris as Vulkan is a given.
I also was gonna go with Keanu as Corax.

I'll have to give some thought to the others.

For Fulgrim I'm going to go with a relative unknown. This is guy is scrawny but I imagine since the majority of these characters are 8 to 10 feet tall and massive that cgi will be used and that what matters most is not their physicality but their acting and presence.

Cody Fern played the anitchrist on American Horror Story Apocalypse and I think he would make a perfect (no pun intended) Fulgrim.

My first thought for Guilliman was also Cavill. He looks the part and has the physicality but is not the best actor imo which may not be that big a deal because Roboute is bland and wooden and I say that as a fan.

Kevin McKidd would be my choice for Roboute probably because I'm typecasting him for his role in Rome.

the emperor of man is usually quite dark skinned. I think a Banderas or a Smits would be great as his welcoming/benevolent face that he shows.

Fassbender could be a good Garviel Loken IMO.

Ramy Malek as a young uncorrupted Ahriman could be good altruistic and loyal more to magnus and his magical abilities.

The Vikings dude is a pretty obvious casting for the wolf.

I like Ramy Malek as Ahriman but i think I would use Travis Fimmel (Ragnar) as Loken. I think he has a good likable every man type presence that Garviel Loken would need.

For Leman Russ I like Liev Schrieber mostly because his Sabretooth in Wolverine Origins.

He would also be a good Angron shave his head and cover him scars and give him some cyber dreads and let him just devour the scenery and I’ll be front row an center

@xenomorph4prez That dude you picked for Fulgrim might actually work very well if he is a good actor. Also Kevin McKidd is also a nice pick he could play either Roboute or a legion Tetrarch, for example. I dislike Schreiber as the great Wolf because he is very not Nordic, but as @zapataxiv suggested he would make a good angron - Liev is a good actor and we indeed know he can display ferocity well.

I dislike Hiddleston as Kurze and it may be his participation in the MCU that is making me hate it. But kitten needs to be more gloomy and desolate without a bit of joy.... to start with! By the end he should be a fucking dark mess.
It seems like the perfect role for a nobody to nail and then get typecast for the rest of their career. By that I mean Kurze would need to be on the heavier side cgi. As his skin needs to be marble pale with Nostra man features and his wild hair etc.. it seems like for the role you don’t really require a known star. Especially considering he would be playing as a fool to the lion or as symbol of the crusade being missused and later just wild beast.

I seen Hiddleston live in theater, he has a HUGE emotional range and can switch from tears to joy and back on a whim. He can manage a psychopathic character.

For the great iterator Kyril Sindermann who is Loken's mentor and friend I would like to see Anthony Hopkins as I think he would make a great iterator but if the role is too small for him my second choice would be Rutger Hauer.

For Lion El Jonson I think Henry Cavill would be a good fit. Again not the best actor but has the physicality and I don't think the Lion needs to be portrayed by a particularly strong actor.
