Warhammer 40k

this looks like some sortof War40k spinoff with none other than the Emps as the main character

And we have Lucius Pattern. Next step is to get the legs posed up and then I can start printing them.

Bunch of stuff from the Nova Open [LINK].

One thing I just don't get. How do you go from having one of the best looking character models GW has ever done in this dude:

To some of the worst looking infantry they've ever done in these dudes:
Nova-Aug29-AoS-Models3grd.jpg
Both are the same faction and presumably have the same design team, and yet one is amazing and the other is dog shit. What gives?

i used to paint Warhammer, Warhammer 40k, and Battletech figurines. The trick is, you have a base color, you have a secondary color, and you have a accent color (aka the brown belt or satchel).

Yea im a nerd.

I've posed and started printing my legs. The pistons are integrated into the print so they're one piece, not glued on. What you see here is four pieces, the two outer toes and the two halves of the leg (split vertically down the middle).

The big guy is freaking sweet, including the doodads surrounding him. I like the smaller infantry as well though, even if they don't really mesh with the big character.

I thought these looked a little derpy:

I've got the whole lower body printed now. I'll have some pictures once I've got it assembled.

I also have been blocking out the mars body. Some of it was straight forward and easy, but the main armor panel that covers the back/neck (the green part below) was an enormous pain in the ass to get looking right. Next up is blocking out the head. Once that's done I can use all the dimensions I produced here and use them as reference to develop the Lucius version. I'll probably end up going back and forth between the two versions for the detail pass; get sick of one, go work on the other.

I can't wait to see the legs fully assembled

Ok lore update
- the new psychic awakening phase hints first campaigns could be eldar links as snippits say phoenix
-as with any new phase of the 40k verse theres primarch return rumours
- cawl has himself an 'alpha primarus .....its a psyker primars astartes that wasnt deep frozen all the time like the rest! Hes been actively running on one man missions from old papa cawl taking interesting tech and he seems to not really be loyal to the emperor or imperium anymore just possibly cawl and/or mankind instead

- more new 30k primarch focused books comming .....good reviews so far

Partially glued, zero finish work. Printing with new material, settings not quite dialed in and it's a little rougher than hoped. Project on hiatus until my depression improves a bit; currently have zero creative energy.

Looks great!

Sorry to hear about the depression man. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need help. There are a plenty of resources out there

To elaborate: I've had major depression since I was 14 (20 years now). Mental health problems run in my family and at this point its going to be a life-long issue. The intensity of it comes and goes. I'm not in any danger right now, I'm just exhausted and can't "summon the muse". Basically I'm paying for how productive the previous two weeks had been.

These dudes look really nice. Impressive engineering to get all the small details looking good. [LINK]
