Re: 3d printing that we've talked about earlier in the thread (see post #1448 and onward)- don't know if anyone's particularly interested, but I've fiddled with drawing and printing some more and figured I'd post an update.
As expected, the early stuff didn't translate well into print. I bought myself a cheap 3d printer (a Da Vinci Nano), the specifics of which would deserve a lengthy post of its own. But I don't blame the printer for the failure of the prints in this case. Heck, I quite like the printer so far.
Anyway, here's a comparison of early models-to-printouts:

I'd say the models are pretty much unusable. Part of it is the printer having trouble printing small details to 28mm scale, or even larger scales. But mainly it is the lack of solid objects in the model files. When the printing software tries to convert the modeling files to print files, it ends up getting confused, leaving out entire parts of the model etc. Like the dog's legs for example, which are supposed to be significantly thicker. Can't really see any way of reparing (most of) the models either, short of remaking them from scratch.
Since I figured out what the problem was, I've been making some progress. I haven't had time to take on any major projects lately, plus I needed to simplify the models in order to properly train myself on keeping objects solid. So I dialed back the difficulty level of the models, and made some simpler stuff. See next post (coming in a few minutes, because I can only upload 10 files per post).
