My company sells research mostly to hedge funds. They pay for research because it helps them make decisions or get ideas.

LOL! It's not similar, but my point in the beginning was that if his stuff had any value, he would be charging a LOT for it. Funny you're getting so emotional here. Do you have some connection to that kid?

Yeah, I used to watch Shark Tank. It got kind of old, but I do like the ingenuity and entrepreneurship.

Er, no. If he just ran an independent research firm or did in-house analysis or something, I'd just think he was another analyst. I'm not a big fan of sell-side analysts, but even there, I get their business model and they aren't fakes.

I think the dude just didn't get the point I made. If someone has a Youtube video called, "how to beat anyone in a fight easily," and asks for people to become members of his group and then sells to them, he's almost certainly a fake, even (especially?) if he's rich. But that doesn't mean a good MMA gym has nothing to teach you. And those views aren't incompatible at all.

It seems like a pretty obvious point though, and @JonesBones certainly isn't some dummy, so it was surprising and amusing that he went right after you personally. It's funny though, you seem to have some existential talent for getting under poster's skin even when I don't get the impression that it's what you're trying to do. Since I've experienced that from the perspective of both an observer and a participant I freely admit that I find it entertaining.
