Chocolate Lab with a fair bit of Bernese in him. Had the most amazing undercoat. He was a biter though, didn't make it. Not sure what kind of dog the neighbor has.

I fucking love choco labs and bernese mountain dogs. An old choco lab with a milk moustache is just the sweetest creature.

That has to be one of the best things about having dogs, giving them human treats and getting their doggy reactions to them.

Apparently:

Not sure who conducted the 2000 and 2001 tests, as MLB wasn't testing at that time.

Apparently investigators retested those samples and found traces ...but everything im seeing is pretty vague. I dont follow the sport I always assumed MLB busted him. They way it gets covered I would've thought the evidence would be way more damning. A whole lot of sealed documents, allegations, tell all books.

That MLK thread started about as disgustingly as you'd think it would

You coulds bet your life that a thread like that would be made today. Pickin up the smears of yesteryear to dog on mlk ..... for what purpose again ?

And then in a week they will go back to claiming him as they do most historical figures

That thread sucks

Chocolate labs will develop white fur on their top lips because of their lineage as a descendant of the St John's water dog.

But yes, a choco lab with an actual milk moustache would be even more adorable.

I don't think there was an explicit rule against it until 2003 or so. I also wonder how prevalent it really was. I'm thinking that maybe something like 10%-15% among active players at any one time at the peak, with a much higher portion that used ever. So I can see holding it against people morally. However, I think the actual value of PEDs to performance is greatly overstated by sportswriters.
Steroids finally made it to baseball's banned substance list in 1991

Oh. I can't support dogs with natural milk moustaches, sorry. It's unnatural.

Yeah. I don't think anyone really doubts that he did use PEDs, but if someone were determined not to believe it, they could find justification.

IMO, it doesn't matter that much if we're evaluating him as a player. One of the worst things about the moralistic outrage campaign led by assholes like Bob Costas is that it assumes away a lot of what makes the sport so fun. Going into 1998, Bonds was the best player in the game, but clearly slowing down. He leaned into it, moving away from the young-player skills and toward focusing on old-player skills. Part of that involved becoming more of a pull hitter, more of a flyball hitter, and changing his workout regimen (and PED use was just one aspect of that), which was already famously intense, to focus more on strength. And that led to a kind of second prime, which people just stupidly dismiss as being solely caused by PEDs. The evidence that PEDs noticeably affect baseball performance (aside from slowing down age-related decline) is much weaker than people think--almost non-existent, though I guess it's impossible to say when you're talking about an individual.

OK. Didn't know that. Was there a specific list? I would assume that some substances classified that way are/were OK.

Does anyone here who speaks two or more languages find lyrics in your second+ languages more meaningful/enjoyable/profound?

Again, I have no knowledge of baseball, bonds as a player or the timeline of events. Just thought I'd find more damning evidence or a clear cut smoking gun and was surprised to see it was such a drawn out circus.. with no clear breakdown of what he really took and when.

I believe he took some form(s) of AAS but some of the accusations of what he supposedly took are laughable. I know enough about steroid usage and compounds and some of the shit they said he took is laughable.

I also agree that outside of joint and tendon repair substances like deca /NPP or some peptides, PED usage isnt a massive advantage in baseball.

Great story here on Jose Bautista, who went from struggling to hold a job to a big star at 30 years old and had to deal with allegations about PED use:

http://www.thepostgame.com/features...-jose-bautista-experimented-his-way-greatness

Lots of great stories like his throughout the history of the game, but because people like Costas encouraged fans to think of PEDs as a magic pill, any improvement or fluke season is regarded as "suspicious" rather than something to celebrate.

It's such a refreshing breath of fresh air to see someone that hates cheating like I do
Boggles my fucking mind how people support them

i think it has something to do with the relationship to the grandmother on the father's side.
