Guys, I'm going to be participating a lot less in the forum in the future. As much as I like the Lounge and its residents, I find the War Room draining more often than not and there are other ways I want to spend my time and energy in 2020. I'll be lurking every now and then, probably moreso as the election comes closer. Thanks to everyone I've interacted with over the years. There are too many to tag, but you know who you are.


Random musing:
Is reddit's upvote/downvote system about as ideal a representation of the "Marketplace of Ideas" can get? It makes sense that niche opinions should have an uphill battle to become mainstream without proportional evidence/support behind them. Likewise, are echo chambers a natural conclusion in such a market?
I cannot “like” this, because I don’t like losing you bro.

But tbt I mostly only post in the lounge myself, unless I get tagged in another thread.

Canadians don't have Canadian bacon correct?

We get the same bacon Americans do on our pizzas. We have Canadian Bacon which people call peameal bacon you can get at diners etc.
 
There's belly bacon (American bacon) and then back bacon (what everyone else that puts the Queen on their money uses).

Once again, America is right and the rest of the world is wrong in this.



Straight up though, back bacon makes making BLTs way easier as you get even coverage of bacon in the sandwich

okay, i can get with this line of thinking

but i still can't help but feel like this preference for bacon interlaced with fat is just the kind of american stubornness that stopped them converting to the metric system

like they picked the belly so they're sticking with it

No kidding. That's something these fruitcakes on the West Coast would put on their pizza. It's hard to find good pizza out here. Most of these pizza places put weird shit on them. I remember going to Seattle one time and two people told me about a pizza place by Pike's Market that they "I had to try" because it was so good...the best. Can't remember the name of it.

It ended up being a cracker thin crust with sauce that tasted like ketchup. There wasn't much cheese on it either... but hoooo lawd you could get all of the pineapples, buffalo cauliflower and arugula your heart desired on it.
