since we're talking about bannings and people who are banned, what is with the harsh stance on Ripskater?

Ended up being more trouble than he was worth. If you're banned though, you aren't going to be allowed back with the same AV or a "LogicalInsanityV2" username. You're supposed to be creeping in the back door and demonstrating that you've changed, not announcing that you're back.
I realise that's a problem for posters/trolls with a strong gimmick.

A couple. And I've seen or heard of many on other groups (MMA stuff, mostly). Also, there was a "Jack Savage" that showed up here for a bit (around the time of Overeem/Brock, and he was aggressively insisting that Overeem was going to destroy Brock, which I thought was a possible outcome but wouldn't have been so sure about or so obnoxious in my insistence). He actually wasn't terrible, though he responded assholishly to my request for him to delete his account.

Rip did a lot of fucked up shit and they were way too lenient on him for years, IMO. The worst thing I remember he did that a lot of lesser posters would be permabanned for was posting a video depicting aborted fetuses.

Final straw was repeatedly calling multiple sherdog mods gay despite multiple warnings to stop.

Can't you guys just put him on probation? maybe give him a 50 post quality test?

and if he doesn't cut the mustard, ban him again? He's not a bad dude...far better than some of the posters who are allowed back under pseudonyms.

Not going to happen, he was a very strong thorn in the side for the left here. The mods even admitted, he had been reported on mass too much, they had to ban him for hurting too many peoples feelings. I will concede he should not have gone after mods though, that was not a smart move.
