What are the chances we've been visited by intelligent space aliens?

A big league MILF moved in next door. Caught me off guard. She already has me putting her garbage can away off the street while she's out of town for the weekend. I think this is called Neighbor-Zoning.

The odds of alien life having actually visited us is so slim to none that it may as well BE 0. Most species, by the time they are able to travel out into the stars would be left with a very simple question. Why? What gain would it have? If they have multiple planets in system (like ours does) resources wouldnt exactly be scarse. Not to mention that would probably already live in a situation where they want and need for very little if anything at all. So barring a level of curiosity that drives them to do it, there really is no purpose for any species to explore beyond their own system.

Not to mention the relative age of the universe compared to the time frame that humans have existed. You would need an advanced alien species with interstellar travel to come by our planet at a time when its arrival might still be observed and recorded by humans. What if they passed by before dinosaurs existed?

And that's the other problem. A thousand species could have lived, traveled the galaxy, and died out before we were anything more than a pile of snot, and we would never know as there would be no evidence of their existence.

While the romantic thought of us eventually finding life elsewhere is fun, people need to come to terms with the fact that while we probably arent alone in the galaxy, humanity will likely always be alone.

Far bigger than any other problem is travel distance/time. We could be jumping with life all over the place and nobody would ever know. Hitting the bull's eye by stumbling upon life at its technological peak is already tough, probably, but even that is relatively easy compared to the limits of physics and the vastness of space.

Blonde with big cans and decent hip ratio, slightly trashy voice and is slightly below average at applying makeup. I'm basically a eunuch slave to her whims at this point, if I am being honest.

And helping that, it looks to me like we'll develop technology to control our desires faster than we develop it to achieve the desire for interstellar travel.

Not visited by aliens, only jehovah's witnesses.

It's hard coming to terms with the fact that an untalented, stupid piece of shit like Paul Ryan will live a long, happy life and influence the world more than I ever will.

For real. I personally would be so much less angry at the state of world politics if it were at the hands of basically talented and intelligent people. But the Republican Party, which is the most important party in the world, is literally a factory for privileged, unscrupulous assholes that pander to morons.

Just give me conservative who are minimally talented like Boris Johnson over in the UK: woefully stupid and incompetent relative to his left-wing contemporaries, but much smarter and more cunning than the average person.

The thing about Biden's son having no qualifications for his 60K a month job is what I've learned to become my biggest gripe about affirmative action. Seems that it tends to target the less privileged white folk.

People like Biden Jr and the types that are private school educated - parents in the rich persons network - can afford to walk away from a job if they get screwed over so they don't get screwed over, will always have the connection to get the leg up.

Who doesn't? Lower, middle class white folks, children of poor immigrants from places like Poland and Romania etc. Some of which are the hardest working fucks I've ever met who get rammed in the face of trying to improve their social mobility because Chase Taylor the 3rd and his posh accent khaki wearing friends have ascended to the upper echelon of their firm.

What if, since Mars has water on it, we used to live there but fucked up the climate so badly that we had to send an escape pod to earth with only Adam and Eve on it?

So, I've been listening on and off to the Revisionist History podcast Lead lead me to. I finished season 1, and they're overwhelmingly great, though the odd one is a bit of a snore-fest sometimes.

One episode is called The Satire Paradox, and basically questions whether political satire a.k.a. The Daily Show, Tina Fey doing Sarah Palin on SNL (and Palin going along with it as a guest star) actually helps or hurts the target of the satire? It mentions how one satirist got famous, but at the end of the day, said his works had no effect. Didn't make a difference at all.

Gladwell later makes some points about satire shows in other countries having more teeth because they know when to get very serious at times and have some real sting. Mentions a show produced by the left in Israel that is very popular, that goes much further (which makes sense given the seriousness of the challenges Israel faces), that visually "parodied" the death of soldiers due to the errors of the Prime Minister (if you listen to the details, you realize north american satire would never go as far for the Iraq War). Another instance of children looking at a map of the world, and asking what they call the rest of the world, and the kindergarten kids say "Anti-semitic!!!!".

I think about how the Late Shows out there are largely just Trump roast fests. Does it at any level hurt the appeal of the ruling party? Does it just attract people to enjoy the laughs and gags of the circus of this whole thing? Does it make people think four more years is good because of the laughs?

Here's an even deeper one;

Islam is right about women.

I actually think both Islam and modern West are in bad places when it comes to male-female interplay.

I don't really subscribe to the MAGA thing, but if someone asked me what is it about yesteryear that is better than today it would be the respect for the family unit in the recent past.

Many Islamic countries the woman are way too dominated, I mean, like not being able to go to a football match lol. It's a little on the nose that this is completely unacceptable so I won't really elaborate on it.

While in the West corporate life has been obsessed with divide and conquer and cheap labour, and first and most important area to divide is at the family unit level through hyper-individualism, and has driven everybody into the workforce making birth rates flop, strangers raising people's offspring, chronic pornography masturbators, children who despise their parents, more people unmarried and single later in life, higher divorce rates, cat ladies and e-THOTs guzzling anti-depressants.

One of the things that really irks me is when women mention one of their friends who after finishing school immediately got married, and became a stay at home mom raising a family. They say "they could never do that", that she is dependent on her husband and if their relationship dissolves she won't have good career prospects blah blah blah. It's invariably someone who is old and single without a family and is completely miserable who is saying it. I can't help but think their projection is the all-to-often-case of having fallen for the con of being an "strong, independent, career woman".

Don't agree at all. Explorers explore for the sake of it.
