From watching MMA I'm ok at reading height/weight measurements, and miles to kilometers is easy enough.

Everything else is a crapshoot though. I must've googled how much is an ounce about 50 times by now.

You fucks should seriously get your act together.

Canadians are partially bilingual when it comes to units. Long distances are kilometers, speeds are kilometers, ambient temperatures are celcius, volume is in litres. Personal measurements and things like building stuff is in metric, baking temperatures are in fahrenheit (like, the stoves will be labeled with both). I still don't have a good sense of how tall people are if it's told to me in metric. I have to think about it.

Like A 181cm dude. Is he a manlet? Well, he's 11cm shorter than I am...how much is 11cm?...

...he's probably a manlet, but not sure.

The UK cards where they weigh people in "stone", tho. What's up with that?

Eh, manlet territory is around 172. 175 is the average.

11cm is a somewhat small penis so I'm sure you can add it all up.

its easy if you are familiar with it, i cant figure out why youd say something is 20,000lbs, easier to just say it weighs ten tons

Weird, because Fahrenheit is more appropriate for ambient temperatures and Celsius is superior for cooking temperatures imo.

But that 181cm guy is king of the manlets. I think that’s like 5’11 3/4

Bret's 182.88. Anything below that is a manlet.

REALLY old school imperial system. Pretty sure it's the only unit that didn't carry over.

I'm not entirely sure how many people are actually used to it in the UK though. The UFC using it might just be a gimmick.

It's also confusing because the temp. measurements are converted with an equation rather than a constant factor.

Why? Genuinely curious.

Temperatures are the hardest to convert on the fly, specially if it gets into the negatives.

UK still uses miles and MPH, I think.

every one generally still uses it in the UK

I have no problem with measuring weight rather than mass because it makes sense to do that on a planet, but our distance measurements are garbage adventures in unnecessary fractions.

Which we even joked about, and I sneak in every once in a great while (and haven't for quite some time).

The edit or OT thing? I know we joked about the edit before. It still looked to be a joke. I just don't want a precedence for it to be continually changed bit by bit. I put "please" in the note.

You're already trying to turn up the heat with me, but it's not going to work, and never has for anybody- it's only going to cause you frustration.

This is further making me think we are on completely different pages. All I asked for is some examples of that post so I can at least explain my perspective. If I assume what you mean, it can go the wrong direction (like I assumed guessing the OT thing and must've been wrong) but at the same time if its broad enough, I don't know what the disagreement is about or the point made.

I'm the one setting the tone here.

No heat is being turned up and I didn't think I took a harsh tone at all.

Plus, you'll simply have a lot more fun if you lose the selective stick from your ass and get rid of stalkers and trolls, and leave the good guys alone.

This looks like it's moving away from a critique as a poster and bringing in a moderation piece too. I'm happy to discuss either or both but not mixed in together as that's only going to get confusing.

Of course you pretend not to get it when I point out that you obviously enjoy stalkers and trolls from the OT and other forums. You have to just flatly deny. This one will take a while, but you'll come around on it. You're just too young and full of yourself at the moment, and when you're ready, I'll shoot you the info of something even you can't deny.

And remember, you're the one who wanted to discuss this out in the open.
Okay? I did ask for clarification and I get more insults and cryptic broad messages. This was the problem with the OT comments too. I'd ask you for more and you'd do this same exact thing. If that was a joke, it went over my head. If this is a joke, it also went over my head.

You're swimming in the deep end lead

I hope you've got your floaties on tight

@Fawlty I did not see the "drank beer and masturbated" option in your poll.

Slightly off topic but I was at open mat, and I had a roll with one of the really good guys that beats me up every time. I could smell alcohol on him and was scared to death the guy was going to accidentally break one of my limbs. Didn't turn out that bad though.

Any Ryan Hall fans ITT. Dude is on quite a tear right now and should get a bump up in competition.

I like the idea of a top BJJ guy that can at will throw whatever kicks they want without concern. You could get a pretty cool fighter out of that idea. Not sure Hall is the best iteration of it but I do like watching his fights. I don't think they are that boring but they aren't exciting either.

Why is it considering escalation to quote someone who didn't tag you about how you act and you simply ask for details. That doesn't seem wrong to me.
