People already refer to you that way usually. It’s catchier than than current name.

People also refer to him as a dingleberry. I think that might be a better name. Do it, Lead. Do it.

Could you ever, once, give a simple even minor compliment to someone that you don't turn into an insult?

Yes, I do it all the time. Just last week in this thread I defended/complimented you as the most good faith right wing poster. I also have been open about my opinion that luckyshot is a wonderful person, Alan is an extremely nice guy, Rod1 is very naturally intelligent, tonni and K1 are hilarious, JVS is a great writer, and Homer is a delicious beefcake.

But I don't feel particularly inclined to be nice to persons that would sooner see the country and world burn than give up their race war fantasies and delusions of persecution and superiority. Frankly, calling him "hapless" was so understated that it borders on a compliment, given that "evil" would have been equally accurate and equally appropriate.

Also, 35 of the 50 cows swept away have been found alive now. Apparently cows are more drowning resistant than I thought.

Very glad to hear.

In that time, it quadrupled for whites...
You're confusing my statements about the the rate of change of the quantity (black OOW birth rate) with the value of the quantity.

The rate of increase of the black OOW birth rate (that is, the time derivative of the function whose graph is plotted) appeared to double (or more) around 1965. It sustained that rate until the early/mid 1970s, and it remained well above the pre-1965 level until the mid-1980s.

The white rate of increase actually declined starting around 1965 (i.e., the graph of the function became 'concave down'). It started increasing in the mid-1970s and reached its peak in the mid 1980s.

I was looking forward to a drama-free thread this time. When there's drama these things go by really fast, and I'm always running out of poll/theme/poem ideas. The Count Chocula quotes, however, are always in stiff supply.

Have you considered passing the torch?

You're thinking about rotating him out? I remember reading a legal opinion by two Yale scholars debating whether that's possible or whether it's actually a lifetime job.

I think everybody, including him, knows this.
He is just running for president as a way to get publicity and a lesser role in the near future. He can check the places where he gets the most votes and run for congress there or try a job in a future Democratic administration.
While we waste our lives in MMA forums.

He is a politician, not an academic. He needs some catch phrases.
"Yes, we can" We can what exactly, Obama?
"Build a wall" Where's the damn wall?
You can call it how you want but some changes are predictable. I predict that in 20 years fruit pickers will be mostly obsolete because the machines already exist they just need to be less damaging to fruits and cheaper.
There will be new jobs but they will require a level of knowledge not present in a large segment of the population.
I do agree some people are too optimistic about it. Do not expect Wall-E, or the Singularity, anytime soon.
Regardless of all these considerations I find the idea of rich people paying VAT on yachts to give people $1000 very interesting. I do believe it could be restricted to the poor or to (responsible) parents.
Perhaps I'm being unfair towards his need of having a zinger, but I'm predisposed against the "freedom" brand of politics and everyone already knows what it is. It's like when conservatives started calling inheritance taxes "the death tax". Bring everyone onboard with merits, not with what you decide to call it.

As for jobs being replaced, you have to keep in mind that, in the US, less than 1.5% of the population is employed in agriculture. And a vast majority of those are self-employed farmers, not grunts. There's just not that many people working in farms. Those jobs have already been killed by technology and if the shiny new toys paraded around conventions (fun events btw) these days replace the tiny blimp that still remains over the next 20 years, nobody is going to notice.

Like I said before I support tech education to prepare the workforce for a new generation of jobs (something that already happens right now when you look at how many people have a rudimentary understanding of computers) and a robust welfare system, but the latter should not be justified on jobs no longer existing and even then I dislike unconditional cash transfer welfare programs. People already freak out when they see people buying steaks with foodstamps, imagine the propaganda against people getting a check for whatever. As efficient as it can be, the political reality often works against it.

I was setting him up for Biden-style comeback line.

JDS or big Francis? I'm picking Francis by KO. JDS' best chance is if he can keep the distance and pick Francis apart for a decision.

Yes it is. Fake doxxing, even for humorous purposes, can earn you double yellows around here.

Then so be it.

I will wear them like a badge of honor, I won't run or hide when adversity arises.

Big Baby or Lazy Eye?

I'll take Big Baby.

I somehow cannot imagine JDS winning that.
