No, sir, I'm worried about the gravity of the lie. Me telling my gf that there aren't dirty dishes in the sink isn't quite the same as smashing iphones with a hammer to avoid facing charges of recklessly treating confidential information.

Smashing phones with a hammer was the recommended way to dispose of them, and she certainly didn't do so to avoid any charges. That's a bigger lie from you (or whomever told it to you) than you can find from her, actually.

Yep, you can pretty much go to any verizon store today and watch a bunch of people smashing iphones with hammers in the parking lot since that's the "recommended way to dispose of them".

Source?

Also, can whoever controls Jack please fucking ask him to tone it down. I handle my peons with care, and you'll notice I try to guide them but whoever runs his business is doing a piss poor job lately. Smashing phones with a hammer. LOL

I'd almost like to ask you to please edit this post and remove it. We need Jack to continue the entertainment here and it's no fun when one side continually takes losses.

My nearby Verizon store doesn't have a lot of former State Department officials bringing phones to them for physical destruction.

This is, again, an example of you putting emotional reasoning over rationalism.

Also, it's funny that the legitimate criticism here is the opposite of yours (that the physical destruction probably wasn't thorough enough to meet guidelines).

Can we go back to talking about my irrational desire to buy trucks?

Dude, please at least try. You're literally in charge of your platoon, and this is fucking embarrassing.

Don't buy cars or trucks. They are a depreciating asset. Buy them second hand.

Please let us know the number of phones you've smashed with a hammer to upgrade. Shit, my contract is up so it's about to break out the hammer.

That's all well and good until you buy the used truck that you don't know what sorta level-ing kit is in it, what sorta muffler is in it, and what's been done to the engine.

I get the depreciating asset argument but next vehicle I am getting I intend on getting new. I know it'll fuck me a bit if I go to re-sell it but I like knowing the history of my trucks/cars

I've never been Secretary of State. If I had been, I would have followed guidelines and taken precautions to ensure that my old devices were properly destroyed.

lol you look so dumb right now

I suspect that he literally is somewhat handicapped.

But what got this started was noting that he and much of the right here (at least unconsciously) holds an anti-rationalist philosophy. That is, it's not just that they're trying to be rational and failing but that they reject rationality as inauthentic. Acting on impulse is seen as the path to being a "real person."

<YeahOKJen>

Because every person in congress smashes their iphones when it's time for an upgrade. Hack Savage is genuinely down to "yeah, smashing them with hammers is how people get rid of their old phones", and you've decided that I'm the dummy for saying nobody else does that. Good luck in life.
