Gotta be kidding me, people calling Warren a new Hillary?

Yes. I have personally been spreading this like wildfire in all the right places. I have even done so here a few times. It helps that they are similar, albeit not to the extent being peddled, however enough will do.

I think there's a damn good chance at getting rid of Trump even with those types making a lot of noise.

You are dreaming.

i would say most everyone aligns with a political party, even if they dont admit is. i wouldn't ever say no matter what i am voting democrat. if the the republican party starting pushing policies that addressed the things i care about then i would vote that way. i describe myself as a democrat because i think it places me on a political spectrum simply.

It's more that we align with a way of life.

The perfectibility of man or not, the power of people solves problems or makes them worse, how much power should be had by the person vs the people, how much of XYZ should be given to whom for what reasons.

Politics = the controlled distribution of power.

Who should be empowered and by what means to accomplish what ends?

It starts out primitive - power for me, muh people, and my allies against whoever else is competing in the same areas.

The human equivalent of lions staking out their territory on the savanna of human domination.

Not the same thing. Lions have many species whereas humans are all exactly the same race.

I nominally agree, but as philosophy entirely disagree.

We spent great amounts of our history trying to classify people as slaves and nobles. It would be funny to see lions haggling about the color purple, or yellow, being a royal color that the other prides can not color their fur with.

Lions also lack a sense of self, agency, or recollection that their exists a history, past, or future of different lion prides.

Meh, I tend to agree with Hayes' take/concession. Carceral sites at a border for foreign citizens seeking to enter a country needs to be meaningfully distinguished from internal penal cities where a country's own citizens are rounded up as ne'er-do-wells and made to atone for their moral sins. Even if you think they are meaningfully similar (they are), I think it's both counterproductive as a matter of discourse (it gives the right firm ground on which to say "literally Hitler," etc. and describe the center/left as hysterical and dishonest) and pretty insulting to people who were legitimately put into concentration camps like gay Cubans, Japanese Americans, or, obviously, European Jews.

Regardless it's still pretty funny when the guy who came up with the law rebuts you.

And all the GOP does (especially Trump) is lean on charged terminology

Was reading a Genghis Khan thread on askhistorians and came across this quote from him to the populace as he was sacking the city of Bukhara

“O people, know that you have committed great sins, and that it is the great ones among you who have committed these sins. If you ask me what proof I have for these words, I say it is because I am the Punishment of God. If you had not committed these sins, God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you.”

Or the stories every hunting season of some rifle hunter killing a deer then finding a fucking arrow sticking out of it that had healed over.

I know it PROBABLY sounds hypocritical coming from a guy that eats meat and goes hunting but when I do it I try to do it in a way that the animal suffers as little as possible.

I have had a single time where a deer I shot I didn't recover. I felt absolutely horrible after. I estimated the range wrong, and my arrow hit a bit high. It still should have been enough to bring it down with a high lung shot like that. Found the arrow and a big pool of blood a hundred 50 yards away. Tracked it about a quarter mile but the blood trail completely stopped. Had 3 hunting buds with all of us circling out trying to find the next drop or other sign, or a shady tree or river area where the wounded deer might have laid down to try and recover (and typically die). But nothing. I have no idea if that deer managed to live, or died many hours later and a county over and was eaten by coyotes.

The shot was definitely bad, but it really should have still done the job. That year I legit bought a new more powerful bow (this was early college. I was still using my 50 pound bow I got at 14) and switched from fixed to rage broadheads for the greater bleed out potential if you don't drive the arrow through both lungs or the heart.

Like, friends joked it was a great excuse to buy a new bow. But that was the legitimate reason. I didn't trust that older, non 70 pound draw weight bow anymore to bring a deer down quickly and ethically even tho it had multiple times in the past.

Interesting....I've never seen a neckbeard on an Asian man.

You haven't watched enough baseball.

Watching the Korean, Japanese, or Chinese players try to grow beards is lol inducing.

Reported to Crave.
Also, prepare to be doxxed.

My good buddy and childhood friend worked on the Sanders 2016 campaign. He's a good person and has debated @Jack V Savage once before.

Sam Seder, Kyle Kulinski, David Pakman, Jimmy Dore, Gleen Greenwald, Noam Chomsky, Aaron Mate, Michael Tracy are all fine blokes in my book.

I think you're being incredibly disingenuous here. You know most of those people are obnoxious and stupid (not Noam). I especially don't think that any normal person can fail to appreciate that Dore and Tracey are morons who are manipulated into essentially arguing for the right. You're supporting them because their function is to divide the left and because many of them have also played defense for Trump.

@Essie, the general point is OK, though. The Bernie (or Gabbard) or bust types are, indeed, terrible people, but they aren't close to the majority of Bernie fans, and a lot of them are right-wing trolls.

Definitely not true in my own case, nor in the case of many of my friends. Also note that non-voters are the largest bloc, and I imagine ~50% of them have no particular political affiliation.

Sure, wai. You just make ridiculous defenses of Trump here because that's where the evidence leads you.

Wai being disingenuous? The hell you say!

I feel for you. Partisan affiliation is a poison.

If someone votes rationally, they are voting for a party (in general elections) rather than an individual. Policymaking is something that requires joint effort, and parties are groups committed to enacting policies.

If I believed in single-payer health insurance and tuition-free college. I would definitely be on the Sanders train. The guy has been consistent on these and other "progressive" issues for decades. Everyone else is trying to catch up to him.

If I believed in True Conservatism, I'd definitely be on the William Weld train. We need to get the word out to right-wingers that the only way we can have more tax cuts, more indiscriminate deregulation, more pollution, fewer brown people in our neighborhoods, and fewer interracial couples in television commercials is to vote for Weld. If he loses in the primary, we True Conservatives must, must, must write him in. The conservative movement can't survive another four years of Trump.

Already have 2 BUT THE JEWS threads or posts today... it isn't even 10 AM where I am at either.

Jesus.

Do the stereotypical overweight, gaming, basement dwellers with neck beards grow them like that on purpose because they actually do like the look, and then they fit in with their social circle?

Or do they just look in the mirror and think it looks like a "normal" beard and are clueless?

I think it's just a matter of cluelessness/lack of grooming discipline
