War Room Lounge v154: People don't realize how many people had to die just for the eight hour day

Someone tried telling me that this will just be a return to the Clinton years and couldn't understand why I took such an issue with that idea. So much progress, lost, fuck man not even weed is going to be legalized lol.

I'm heartbroken by this new reality.

I honestly don't care at all about weed legalization, and I think progressives have done a really poor job of answering the scientific concerns in dealing with it (i.e. how to properly test for intoxication since mere detection [where via smell or via blood test] cannot be grounds for punishment given that it's a legal drug and it stays in your system exceptionally long]).

But in re the Clinton years, I think that really gets to the distinction between the "the left," progressives, etc. and standard Democrats. The divide has never, in my opinion, been nearly as much a matter of ideology so much as interest. When it comes to centrist views on key leftist issues, with Israel being a major one, the centrists very rarely have a committed view that they will intelligently defend on the subject. They just defer to the establishment line because they're not particularly interested in expanding beyond it.

Is there somebody in particular that if tapped to be SOS would make you think they are considering going to the left with regard to Israel/Palestine?

Given Biden's history, I don't think a pick that satisfies me is realistic. Someone like Michael Walzer would be great. The Carter administration is the last one to appoint a SOS that was anything but grotesque. There are more centrist establishment picks like Frederik Logevall that wouldn't anger me.

If ya want legal weed, bud, just move to Oregon

Mixed kids arent black

You think they are?

Part of the problem with the US

Real black supremacists make a good point about the dilution of Negro blood and the extermination of the Y Haplogroup of Slave descsndent blacks. And how most of them have Y european chromsome haplogroup. The same is now happening to the maternal axis via black men with non black women.

<Huh2>

And my grandpa just passed away.

Today is strong in the running for worst day of my fucking life.

Sorry to hear that my man, my condolences. How old was he?

Valid point about the interests of liberals vs leftists. I find liberals in general to be uninterested in political ideology, which is why they seem to be more "eh it will change one day" opposed to calling for any sort of drastic action of any kind regardless of necessity.

Legal weed being a major issue for me isn't because I love smoking, it's that I find criminalization to be a moral issue. There are people spending their lives in tiny cells because of it. I find that to be indefensible and something that must be stopped.

lol they picked the black Hillary. Hilarious and fascinating really.
<31>

I find it so upsetting. Using prison labor to undermine unionization efforts is a massive hurdle that just got so much higher.

Sorry to hear it bro.

I am so sorry to hear this.

Damn dude, very sorry to hear.

Thanks guys.

Sorry to hear that my man, my condolences. How old was he?

He was 87 and had no right to live that long. Couple tours in Korea, 4 heart attacks, 2 strokes, and the dementia over the last decade.

He got moved from his hospice unit last week because he was "not declining", but then tested positive for COVID.

There was about an hour between finding out he wasn't doing well and then finding out he passed.

Thanks guys.

That sucks, sorry to hear it. Sounds like he lived a long fruitful life.

The last decade was rough, and a huge downward spiral. It was so rough to watch, and it's crazy that I was probably still a teenager the last time he was "himself".

He lived his life post-war busting his ass so he could live a modest life with his wife and 3 kids. He was a good man.

You get the test done?

Ah man, my heart goes out to you. Going to go buy beer and drink it if that's any kind of commiseration.

Take care of yourself. Rest and rant at us tomorrow.

Thanks guys.
