Most of all, I think the Harris pick definitively halts any progress on foreign policy. Especially in re Israel, on which Biden and Harris were the two worst Democratic candidates and are both definitively to the right of Obama on the issue. "Republican-lite" is an overused term....but it will be apt for US-Israel relations under Biden/Harris. They will absolutely run interference for right-wing brutality in Israel and they will absolutely stand in the way of issuing any kind of censure on Israel or expression of support for Palestine.

Someone tried telling me that this will just be a return to the Clinton years and couldn't understand why I took such an issue with that idea. So much progress, lost, fuck man not even weed is going to be legalized lol.

I'm heartbroken by this new reality.

This sounds reminiscent of that famous vid of the pasty white college kid yelling at a righty that they were a white male... while also being a white male.......

Is there somebody in particular that if tapped to be SOS would make you think they are considering going to the left with regard to Israel/Palestine?

It seems way premature to even talk about any policy impact. To quote John Adams: "My country in its wisdom has contrived for me the most insignificant office that ever the invention of man contrived. ... I can do neither good nor evil." VPs usually do have some responsibilities given to them now (Biden headed Obama's transition team, worked as a kind of liaison among the cabinet, oversaw the Iraq situation, and ran the oversight of the stimulus spending, among other things), but I haven't seen Biden say exactly what he wants Harris to do if he wins. Given his background and hers, I'd be very surprised if she had anything major to do with foreign policy.

Yeah, like I said I preferred Harris over Rice because I think the Dems are probably better off politically and Biden is a foreign policy guy.

Still interested in the people @Trotsky likes in regards to FP.
