....sometimes I lose track of why thread I’m in. I can’t tell you how many times I got an obscure OT tag and almost handed out cards for the posts I was seeing and wondering “wtf is going on?”

Desert eagle for sure.

I love how this guy got famous for shooting random stuff with magnum pistols and now whenever he pulls out the S&W .500:
"God I hate shooting this thing"

@PolishHeadlock2

If this is intended to be used to protect house and home and you get any semi-automatic handgun get one with a rail for a light. You need to be able to see what you point the thing at and it's easier to shoot with two hands if the light is attached to the gun.

Which one of you mods has the balls to admit they
I think that's what the little old lady with the cane just bought
She empties her magazine, she just flies down the street quicker than her cane can take her.

Grow up and buy an axe imo

Carry or range?

Greg will try and sell you on a CZ, but i'm all about Sig or Glock for a first handgun. Glock 17 for full size, Glock 19 for compact. In Sig, the P320 for compact, the P365 for a carry gun. All 9mm, so it's going to be the same round.

Most would say a 9mm.

From that I would suggest a Glock 19, 26, or 43. They’re simple to use, simple to take down as well.

Any of the CZ, Smith and Wesson, or maybe Springfield competitors to Glock is good too. Sig also makes excellent handguns but in my experience feel heavier than a Glock or CZ. And are usually more expensive.

.380 Bersa Thunders are nice guns too, they look like the James Bond gun, but .380 is an iffy self defense round for a lot of people.

that’s my 2 cents on the matter. The 26 is smaller than the 19 so it might fit your wife’s hands better

@PolishHeadlock2 like Higus said, have her practice first for safety purposes, but these recommendations above are 10/10. May never actually need it in real life, but on the off-chance you/her ever do, at least you're holding. Plus, range shooting is pretty fun.

Yeah we'll definitely go to the range when we can but for the immediate future it's going to sit in my bedroom closet just in case
