Elections Wake the F**k Up Dems: Running on Identity Politics Doesn't Work Anymore

I see them mostly talking about letting the immigration thing go out of control. Perhaps they said something about trans but didn't see it.

Yes, I think the trans issue is more like throwing paper on a fire. It burns hot for a minute but it doesn't last. The immigration issue is much more realistic to blame the Democrats for and there's really no defense cuz they totally f***** up.

I mean I'm a Democrat through and through so I just took their position as true but as soon as I started looking into the border I realized there's real problems. When you have cartels making a living off of bringing people into the country from all over the world who are in many cases beholden to the cartels once they get here something is going very wrong.

I been watching Morning Joe all morning and its interesting to watch the anger towards the They/Them bullshit by all these liberal talking heads, several of them realize how much damage that nonsense is doing to their own party and are finally speaking loudly against the "very small group of progressives" that have taken control of the Democrats

Who knows if its actually gonna change the main direction of the party but its telling to see these people finally starting to say it out loud, I doubt theyre the only ones in the party that have quietly watched it happen even though they knew it was a bad idea

Joy Reid has zero self-awareness and continues to fuck Democrats with her verbal diarrhea

I agree immigration is a much larger issue, but if a candidate is all supportive of all the trans kid shit, many people are going to be like hell no to them just for that.

It's a dealbreaker for many.

4. They tried to gaslight people that crime wasn't rising when we literally saw it with our own eyes. Acknowledge the problem - not deny that it exists. People are not that stupid.
The gaslighting is the thing that drives me away from the Democrats the most. I actually agree with some of their policies, but the constant gaslighting drives me crazy.

1. Men can menstruate
2. Men have no advantage vs women in sports
3. We'll teach your kids the above in school whether you like it or not.
4. Trump is Hitler
5. If you question anything we say you're racist

It's just insulting.

I don't agree with everything the right does, but I don't feel like they're constantly gaslighting me.

With all due respect we knew this for a very long time. Democrats had to run on identity politics because thats all they had to offer non Republican voters. That and insincere promises to bring back Roe they were lying through their teeth about.

That entire panel last night was being so condescending as the night went on and reality set in, Im over generalizing here but their basic angry message was "Why dont you stupid regular people realize that we know whats best for you", they were pretty irritated that the "working class" had minds of their own

meh, it still matters like how wrestling matters in the UFC when damage is equal................... but the economy was too damaging to overlook.

Lmao at this take. Dems finna triple down on Vance being a racist, sexist, homophobic, Nazi dictator in 2028 while running AOC. Def gonna work then imo.

AOC and Newsome finna make some beautiful babies when they finally combine forces like Voltron

This is exactly it. Obama ran on Hope and Change. Not more of the same. Not trying to appear as bipartisan as he possibly could. That's why he was so popular. You have to give something for voters to believe in, whether it's feasible or not.

Empty platitudes yield diminishing returns as the election cycles pass. In politics if you scam people you have to try scamming them again and again and each time it becomes harder to do if you're producing nothing.

Also a thing with Obama is he had the whole Iraq war thing. At that time politics really revolved around that one issue like the sun. Voters weren't looking for specifics to make their life better with the desperation they are now the priority was ending the war. And theres a whole shit ton of otherwise right wing people who became lefty icons by opposing that war. Leftys started assuming anyone who'd oppose Iraq believed in x,y and z things they flatly didn't. And thats really what set up the whole Bernie Sanders conflict. In the long haul Bernies ideas were not nearly as important as their prior heroes reaction to them.

"They’re poisoning the blood of our country... not just in South America, not just to three or four countries that we think about, but all over the world. They’re coming into our country from Africa, from Asia, all over the world" - Donald Trump

That sounds pretty maligning. It's the most maligning thing I think I've ever heard from a campaign.

Then he accused a group of legal immigrants of "eating the pets in Springfield" and threatened to revoke their temporary protected status and deport them. "Absolutely I’d revoke it and I’d bring them back to their country".

And of course there's the fact that he cited the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 as the legal mechanism he'd use for deportation. This is noteworthy because you don't need to invoke that to deport illegal immigrants. You need it to deport or strip the rights of legal immigrants.

So, it's not JUST about illegal immigration and a lot of it is pretty maligning. But for what it's worth, it was a winning strategy.

But but that’s not what he meant.

I've heard it out of the mouths of Democrats myself so I know it's true.

My super liberal older ex hippie friend who's been involved in politics and donated money to the Democratic party his whole life said.... "I just wish they would shut the f****** about all this."

But that did not stop him from voting Democrat. He just goes to show that even people who were Democrats are sometimes sick of hearing about it all the time.

And this is a guy who's completely in support of that community and wants them to have their rights. He just wants to quit hearing about it all the time.

Well, he has beaten Hillary and now kamala. Maybe people aren’t ready for a female president?

Women apparently aren’t even ready for a Female President.. maybe another 2-3 cycles before one is taken seriously again, I think..

1. Women can not work together
2. Women are horrible drivers
3. Women can not break glass ceilings

Yes... Did see the threads where the lefty posters in this forum were calling Mike far right? lol...

Because he didn't agree with them on one issue. He's anything but right.

I voted for Kamala and have literally never voted for a Republican in my entire life.

But I can't stand most of the trans activist shitheads - feel most of them are raging narcissists that act like adult children. Constantly talking about their feelings, their pronouns, how they look, how other people need to bend to their comfort - highly entitled and narcissistic.

I didn't particularly like either candidate but I think in the long run this L will be a good lesson for the dems if they become more moderate and less extreme and weird

Both sides have shifted to the extremes somewhat, but the dems are way further over than the republicans

Dems running a moderate campaign is what sunk them lol.

They had huge momentum after the Walz selection and he was the only progressive out of the 4 people running.

Then they started campaign with Dick and Liz Cheney and ran on nothing but a border bill and tax cuts to small business lmao.

Dems ran on the 2012 Republican platform
