Running on identity politics absolutely does work. White liberalism / progressive championing of the downtrodden doesn't. They are illegals - not undocumented. They are homeless - not unhoused. They are Latinos - not LatinX and most of all, tranny lives don't matter.

Latin American, African and Middle Eastern countries would be a lot different if Americans did not fun proxy wars. I'm against proxy wars but again that belongs to both parties and it should stop but it will not. If America did stop proxy wars Israel would be hurting.

Your second paragraph has 2 issues with it. 1. You would still have to answer the question of is it okay for private businesses to be able do what they want? You put the blame on the government but if it is illegal then it could be considered telling private entities what they can and cannot do with their business. Repubs and Centrist Dems do not want that. 2. This is not surprising considering the C.I.A. exists and the Patriot Act has been a thing since the Bush 2 Administration.

The third paragraph is true about wasting funds but then what about other Repub wants like cutting the deficit? I have worked for state government before and I did not make crap at that job and many people don't make crap on government jobs. However, the solution is not to cut taxes for corps. Presidents have done that for decades and it does not work. You say that the government has more than enough, but enough to get out of the deficit and fund popular social programs like Social Security for future people?

I don't go to work for 40 hours a week so I can fund other countries. I want my country funded and I'd like it funded responsibly.

A private business can do what they want as long as what they're doing is legal. I've never made the argument that Twitter itself was doing anything illegal. I'm saying it should be illegal for the government to come knocking while making requests to censor American citizens. It's kind of like the mafia making a request. If you don't adhere to their request, bad things could happen. Lets not pretend like the government is above retaliation. They are the most powerful entity in the world.

They'll never get out of the deficit. That's a pipe dream. I'm good with lowering taxes for everyone, not just income tax or corp tax. The Government basically dangles a carrot in front of people and wants them to think that they can make all their dreams come true if they just had a few more bucks. They get enough gullible people to chase that dream long enough and you wind up like California. They already have the money. They need to use it efficiently.

I mean they could easily write up policy that would allow law enforcement to ask for phone records for investigations while simultaneously making it illegal for the gov to request that people be censored or banned. I just had someone on here the other day try and defend that by saying that the government was just showing Twitter that their ToS was being violated by users. Since when are we paying tax dollars to have the government analyze ToS violations with private companies? Ludicrous. Also I do not think Twitter was innocent in all of this but they were also stuck between a rock and a hard place by not knowing what the retaliation would be if they gave the middle finger to the gov. Kamala is on record talking about how the government should have more power over these companies to combat misinformation. That's scary and I'm glad she lost.

I live in California myself. I've been able to get ahead of the average person with a little luck and a lot of frugal spending and investing but it's very expensive to live here. My out of state relatives make quite a bit less than I do but have a lot more disposable income because they aren't paying out the ass in property taxes and sales/state tax.

The Dem's strategy this campaign: Orange Man Bad. He's racist, misogynist, sexist, transphobic, rapist and every ism under the sun.

They unsuccessfully tried identity politics with Hilary in 2016 and failed. And then they made the same exact mistake this time and failed again. It's like the boy who cried wolf. People just don't believe it.

Proof identity politics failed:

1. Trump flipped the Latino vote, even though the Dems ran hard on Trump being racist against Latinos. Even till the very end with the Puerto Rican joke thing.
2. Black men didn't buy it. Trump had historically large support in historically black Georgia against a black woman LOL. Even with women, less black WOMEN showed up for Kamala than for Biden.
3. Before Trump ever ran for President, he was loved by black people. He was in rap songs, gave money to Al Sharpton, gave money to Dems, the Clintons came to his wedding, etc. It was only after he ran for President did the crazy racism angle was pushed.
4. They weaponized the justice system to accentuate he's guilty of all the isms - BS rape trial to "prove" he's a rapist. Stormy Daniels trial to "prove" he's a misogynist pig.

Turns out people don't give a shit about any isms you try to guilt people with. They care about crime, mass immigration into their cities and their pocketbooks.

Dems need to wake the fuck up. Identity politics doesn't work anymore. The Republicans just won the Senate, House, has a Supreme Court majority AND the popular vote. That's not all because "Orange Man bad and those who support him are a cult." (although there are many cultish Trumptards too)

They need to look in the mirror and admit their faults.

Primary reasons for failure:

1. They never gave a good reason to vote for Kamala. Nor Hilary. The only reason they gave was "I'm not Trump and am a woman."
2. Their only winning issue was abortion. No other issues.
3. They didn't run a likeable candidate. It was already proven people didn't like Kamala (and Hilary) yet they still ran them. Why do this?
4. They tried to gaslight people that crime wasn't rising when we literally saw it with our own eyes. Acknowledge the problem - not deny that it exists. People are not that stupid.
5. Don't run on "Half the country are pieces of shit." That condescending tactic will lose you more votes.

The things they're doing DO NOT WORK. And will continue to not work in the future. Next time they need to run on ACTUAL issues and have a candidate that is likeable. No more identity politics, focus on our pocketbooks and our safety/crime.

What they're counting on... and it may be true... is Trump is a one-of-a-kind mega-celebrity who ran for President and won twice. As soon as he is gone everything will go back to normal of calling the next Republican nominee a racist, sexist, bigot, homophobic, transphobic, islamophobic, etc and it will stick like glue.

All it takes is for a Republican to say something wrong once to indicate they're any of those labels, even out of context, at any point of their political career and it will be played on a loop to destroy them in their current position, or when they try to run for higher office. With Trump that backfired multiple times when he said very bad statements, but somehow & someway it caused his approval numbers to rise. I highly doubt that will be able to replicate within another Presidential candidate or nominee.

The best we can hope for is a nominee with a nearly clean record, and has masterfully handled the MSM in dozens of hours of interviews.
It looks like JD Vance is the overwhelming favorite to win the 2028 nomination.

If Trump's 2nd term is overwhelmingly successful, its up to Vance to convince the voting public he is the one to keep the momentum going.
