Interesting. So, we are back to wasting ammo (not hitting the target) and having to carry more of it. What was the reasoning behind this decision?

My understand in ng is that the ability to gain fire superiority quickly without having to wait for the M249 or M240 allows suppression faster and thus allowing the maneuver element to engage faster.

Ammo's cheap. And we are largely vehicle based forces now where everyone has access to more.

I am a first time gun owner, bought one last year. My state requires registering with the state and receiving a separate firearm ID. It also had limits to the magazine size, and type of gun I could buy.

I think gun ownership should be legal and Americans should be able to have any kind of gun they want outside of military weapons e.g. explosives, etc. However, anything the police can carry, I think Americans should be able to buy.

However, I don't believe they should be able to openly carry them wherever they want (concealed however makes sense in a lot of circumstances) nor do I think they should be able to obtain them without any sort of record keeping or background checks, sanity testing or training.

I think there is a way to make sure guns are available to all who want them, while making sure they only go to those that should have them and know how to use them. Mandatory training for all gun purchases maybe after background checks? I think that would be a good tradeoff for being able to buy whatever you want. Maybe yearly training/checks for those that carry them as well. And obviously registration.

I think it should be completely open, but also completely regulated.

Pro guns. Legalize everything, and I mean everything. Machine guns, rotary cannons, explosive shells, heavy artillery, cluster munitions, if it's in the military inventory I should be able to walk down to my local gun shop and buy it. If I want to hunt feral pigs by gunning them down from a helicopter with a 20mm autocannon, I should damn well be allowed to do so.

I shut this thread down in November of 2018.

Good to see it back.

Do you want to get rid of guns or do you want to get rid of the people murdering others with guns? Careful how you answer, racists!

If Chicago teenage gang members can get access to a rocket launcher, it's only right I'm allowed the same access. Equality.

"Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary"~Karl Marx

Completely pro gun and keeping laws as is seems best route. Although, just for a fun laugh...would want a test bed of establishing higher restrictions vis-à-vis enchanced licensing, registration, mandatory courses and training and then watch the Leftist tears roll about how it becomes discrimination against the poors and minorities.

I voted, Ban all guns.

I'd still keep mine of course and it would give me a huge advantage over
all of the subservient morons who mindlessly surrendered all of theirs!

Ahhh.. right wing fantasies of a failed government, state collapse, anarchy and killing their neighbors.. such peaceful people!

FYI if the government wanted to turn on its citizens, you'd still get vaporized. Your hunting rifle isn't going to help you LOL

If some boy loving goat herders can do it, bygawd. I'm liking my chances brother

Too much of a gulf between "legalize automatic weapons" and "keep laws as they are now," as some states/cities have very restrictive gun laws.

I'm fine with fully auto being restricted, as well as "ultra high capacity" magazines (over 30 rounds), but would gladly allow those to be made legal if it means we can lift the other bs. bans some states have.

Why waste all of that good pig meat though?

You raise a valid point. We should drop napalm on the feral hogs from an A-10 Thunderbolt, and by the time we land the plane and fly back with a helicopter the pigs will be perfectly BBQ'd.

Don't start this nonsense. The us govt has lost to the Vietnamese and Afghanistan. Poor people with rifles who just were not going to quit. If the US government isnt willing to kill foreigners down to the last man it sure as shit isn't going to be able to do that to its own. Guerrilla/a symmetrical warfare/ occupation is a nightmare for a conventional army

Good luck to you, brave soldier. I hope you enjoy it and revel in your delusions of grandeur before a drone effortlessly puts your lights out for good.

I’m not even saying it would happen.. I’m saying if it did, you’d all be dead though lol

This ain’t Vietnam anymore. The military didn’t lose to Afghanistan, it lost its will to keep paying for it. They decimated those folks. Don’t kid yourselves.

And I'm not even saying that I want to fight in a civil war so calm down.

Yes, list a war where civilians defeated the most established and well funded military in human history at home. I’ll wait.

The casualties would by high I'm not saying they wouldn't. But the amount of force needed to quiet such a thing down would de legitimize the very government doing it. We aren't talking about hitting military bases and uniforms here. You want to be part of an occupation like that?

I'm aware the government has better toys dude but that kind of violence doesn't happen in a vacuum and every action will cause a reaction. The day the US government turns drones on the homeland its days would be numbered. You think that government would have wide spread support of the people it wishes to govern/oppress for long ? You want to be part of the occupation of your neighborhood and your co workers and family ?

You just aren't thinking about this correctly you are only thinking about hardware.

Voted to legalize automatic weapons but in truth I think that should only apply to pistol caliber weapons, not rifle caliber.
