There is one thing that will make you immune to a disease—being infected, and beating the infection (or through immunization). We have them in 3 cities in Australia now; Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney with millions of Chinese that live in concentrated areas which makes it worse.

All inbound flights from China should have been banned weeks ago.

So out of 1300 cases, 41 people have died?

3% is less than the early reported death toll from Swine flu when it first cropped up a decade ago.

When that came out, the panic was real. 2000 people infected, 300 have died, that kinda shit.

I got the swine flu back in 2009 (or was is 2010?). That shit tkoed me. Just bedridden for days, freezing cold but sweating. Took hours to muster the strength to get out of bed and use the bathroom.

That we know of. China is well known for suppressing things in the media and it's too be expected that they're under reporting.

1300 confirmed cases, that means those are the ones that made it to the hospital and tested positive. US and European experts both stated healthy adults are unlikely to die from it, and mostly affects people with compromised immune system (elderly, pre-existing conditions).

Imagine how many stayed home or just walking around with flu like symptoms without knowing they got it.
 
If it passed through the eyes shouldn't they be wearing some goggles or other form of eye protection?

Yeah, the swine flu fucked me up. I rarely get sick, but seem to get all the big ones. Had Norwalk a few years before that. I was in my early 20's and has the strength of an infant.

Accurate. I was 19 and actively playing club hockey in college and it just left me helpless. I can't imagine being a young teen or 40+ and coming down with that, much less a child or elderly person
