Those bastards have annual festivals where they stuff dogs and cats in cages and sacrifice all sorts of Animals. They even buy the ones from Vietnam.

Japan is horrible also with their Spearing Dolphins in the head annually every year.

This comment is mostly just aimed at China: You got to wonder why a region that is often touted as having the highest I.Q. in the world show such cruelty to animals , believe in quack medical claims and show no regard for species endangerement.
 
Depending on the news source, reports are that China has quarantined anywhere from 20 million to 56 million people.

That is just a mindboggling number . It's like the plot from a made-for-tv movie, with the authorities sealing off entire regions.

It's absolutely brutal , they are the main reason the Rhinos got endangered for the demand for IVORY, now the Elephants have been declared vulnerable.

the only animal they managed to have some conservation for on a grand scale is the Giant Panda and that's because it became a tourism symbol and economy money generator. Pandas would be doomed if they weren't so precious.
 
It seems like this virus affects people or different ethnicities differently. While the Chinese are just getting sick, sources are telling me that non Chinese individuals infected with the corona virus are slowly showing symptoms of turning into what appears to be a Han Chinese person.

Other developing nations also have uneducated masses. India is worse in this regard , yet Indians don't treat animals in the same callous manner. Or you can lump together several Latin American countries , which are also developing nations, yet don't show such disregard for animal suffering as China.

The US government will reportedly evacuate its diplomats and citizens from Wuhan on a chartered plane amid the coronavirus outbreak

Following days of negotiations, China reportedly agreed to the flight despite halting nearly all transportation in and out of Wuhan. The Chinese Foreign Ministry likely agreed because the plane would transport passengers, who could be affected by the virus, directly to the US and not another city in China, the WSJ said.

Well I would presume the Federal government would quaratine all the passengers until sure they are not carrying the virus.
 
Not all animals are meant for human consumption. Bats and primates especially. Bats carry an inordinate amount of pathogens (far more than rodents) many which are of the cross-species type and non-human primate viruses can seriously affect humans because well..we're also primates.

Unfortunately, some of these "exotic" animal foods are culturally and traditionally entrenched in large swaths of certain countries (notably China, SE Asia, and certain parts of Africa).

At risk of sounding prejudicial, I'll say...I've yet to see a living organism the Chinese deem inedible (those that gravitate to bushmeat out of superstition to be specific).

Yet again they fuck with nature, eating all sorts of wild shit, wild raccoons, porcupines, snakes and god knows what else n what do you know mother nature bites back and spreads another fuckin virus now they're all panicking and fleeing their land spreading the virus onto people who did nothing to deserve it, didn't they learn anything from the SARS shit?

All the focus is on what are they doing to contain it, how are they treating the people is there enough beds etc but i've still not heard one word of apology for them fucking up yet again for their outlandish behaviour which caused all this shit.
