Where there smoke there is fire. Story has been brewing for so long, it finally broke. Good for the lass. Hope she gets justice.

I was sort of expecting this after the retirement announcement. That abrupt 180 from call outs to retirement didn't make sense without the story breaking.

Someone tipped him off that it was going public. I agree.

If it is true, I hope he pays for it. And I sadly think he did all those terrible things...
I always felt he had no value whatsoever. Always talking about having more cash than others and disrespecting those who came before him (Aldo mostly). Also coke can turn an angel into a monster and Conor have been doing it for quite somewhile obviously... My toughs are going to that girl and Conors' children who will be rich, but without a dad. Sad story

many people in Ireland saw him as nothing more than human garbage from not long after the beginning.
I hope that he's put away for the deserved period of time if this is proven in court.

Not really
If you read the article it doesn’t really say much
It says that no actual arrest or charge has been filed, the NYT source is literally “people close to the investigation” no names no roles nothing
At least say the head prosecutor
The NY article is hearsay at this point though most see the title and don’t read the article

Could Conor be guilty? Sure! Does this is really change anything? Not at the moment. The next week or so should be huge

It states he was arrested, but no charges made yet. That is how things work in Ireland.

It cites 4 sources close to the investigation. These would have to be anonymous as if they were made public they themselves would face charges.

It states that a file is still being prepared for the public prosecution (DPP). That means that the police are seriously taking their time with this, prob because its so high profile.

Props to the mods for having the stones to not delete this thread. Today you received the validation for having left the thread up.

And to all you posters who were saying that this was fake news and that the "Irish sports star" in question isn't Conor even though all of the evidence pointed directly at him...

Yes he has
He returned about a week later give or take a couple of days
He went to Miami to promote his Whiskey aswell as finish his community service and effectively end the New York bus case
I hear he is on his way back but I’m not sure,
If he was about to be arrested he wouldn’t of been allowed out and we would get a lot of “leaks”
The speculation wasn’t even speculation it was just a thread on Sherdog that conved different messages
A few of the Irish people I know on this site aswell as a few off “Dog” have essentially called the story BS
If you like I can add you to said pm where it was discussed
Media outlets pushing story as "Breaking News" getting lit up in comments.
Check the comments on Ariel Helwani's or ESPN's IG posts, bunch of nuthuggers. Saying it is fake news and it is just another slag looking for a pay day, absolute scum.

Again, Ireland is a funny old place. You can do some serious shit and not just get arrested.

You get brought in for questioning. You get released. The DPP puts together a file, they decide if you are going to get prosecuted, you get arrested.

There are people on the streets here with 300plus convictions. No word of of a lie. That means they were in court 100plus times at least.

It's soft touch.

They take into account what a tough life you've had as an excuse. Prison is last resort and short sentences or slaps on the wrist are the order of the day.

This is why the states has such high relative numbers incarcerated. Because we leave these people walking the streets.

Thus Conor could easily be swanning around for 1 year even if guilty.

The story of the one girl who was raped there and raper used the defense that she was wearing a thong was pretty bad. I remember reading that and thinking if that’s how the courts think there, Colin won’t be punished.

Still no media outlets reporting this in Ireland today.I tought once it broke the Irish media could start printing?

I hope Colin isn't punished for this

What makes you think because a defendants barrister uses that as an excuse, that's how the courts think?

How the courts event think in the first place

As dirty as it is, that's their job, it was a woman too, if that matters to ya

that's not how it works

granted these types of laws dont really work with all the internet so are outdated, but they apply in ireland

it's not like he has an injunction to stop him being named

it's the fookin law

So why did the NYT just NOW post an article pertaining to an issue that has had no new information since January? What's changed?

One possibility is that it was a leverage move gone wrong. Conor "retired" before being a cry baby trying to leverage himself. Last time is was Zuffa.. This time it's WME...

WME isn't Zuffa and I'm sure we could go on all day about Fertitas and Mafia ties but WME is a bit more dark..

WME is a media mogul with their hands in a massive amount of content and production in many different industries.. Hollywood being one of the biggest.

Adam Venit is the head of WME’s motion picture department.. He is also the dude responsible for the Terry Crews nut grab.

Then we got Skip Chasey, the WME Executive that had a dude die in his house after a bondage session.. I guess he is a big influencer within the S&M community. Along with is 3 long term boyfriends.

The more you dig, the more disgusting things you find about WME...

So the same day he "retires" for leverage.. A two month old story surfaces... Prior to this.. Complete Media Blackout... Maybe his leverage move backfired? What's Mcgregor Stock worth now? It wasn't in the Media Mogul's interest for the to their cash cows name to be smeared... until the day he walks away and isn't worth anything to them anymore?

I'm sure WME would have the pull to make the article drop on NYT.. If they actually DID it is another question

It wasn't some small dirty bag news outlet either.. It was the NYT..

Or maybe it was none of that..?

Conor wanted to fight Pettis on Saturday and retires 3 days later? Same day the news breaks? Maybe he's going to jail? Maybe things are getting real?

Either way.. Many things don't add up..
