She is perfect for 125lbs. She was clearly outsized at BW.

Shevchenko barely cut any weight to make 135. Sometimes she even weighed in at 133. She doesn't cut much to make 125 at all. She's not much bigger then her opponents. She's much stronger and faster though. And infinitely more skilled.
 
The odds for Rousey v Holm and Joanna v Rose were similarly one-sided, that Emma girl just won the US Open from the qualifying round ...... anything can happen in sport. I'll be surprised if Murphy folds easily without putting up a fight, one day Val will lose and we'll all be shocked but probably not this weekend.

Yeah, I would think prop bets are the only way to make money on her. But, those can be tricky as fuck. Murphy is tough. Going with the decision might just be the way to go.

On the prelims #12 WFLW Taila Santos (17-1, 2-1 UFC) is fighting #9 WFLW Roxaanne Modafferi.

Santos is very green as a fighter, but possesses a physicality and athleticism that Valentina does not have nor has she ever faced.

If she manhandles Roxanne, in a similar fashion to how she has handled her last two opponents, then theres a real chance she could dethrone Valentina.

Her main problem is she isn't spectacular at anything, everything is serviceable, but she does have a raw physicality that just does not currently exist at WFLW.

So the jury is still out, but if theres anyone its probably her.

Modafferi has a thing for derailing contenders, including Valentina's own sister and Maycee Barber, she should lose this but we'll see, to beat Valentina just on physicality is not exactly easy, Nunes arguably lost the rematch while being the bigger fighter and a dominant champion at 135.

Thats why im not sold on her 100%, she has manhandled Molly Mcann and Gillian Robertson, but before she starts getting hyped up she needs to control a veteran like Roxanne from start to finish.

If she can control Roxanne though just off her raw physicality she could present a very difficult problem for Valentina to solve because Santos is not really great at anything except imposing herself on her opponents; which wouldn't be an easy problem for Valentina to solve.

Valentina is too complete of a martial artist to be dethroned off of some minute technical advantage, the way to beat her is likely to just control her for three rounds and outpoint her.
 
Shev better steamroll this nice lady if she wants to keep the division alive. Kinda sad the UFC is putting so little effort into wmma the moment Ronda exited the building

move watched mma since the mid 90s. I always knew one day that someone named Lauren who is really bad at fighting is not only making a living but fighting for a title ahead of guys like nick Diaz and Robbie lawler.
