Shot in the chest.
Caption says 'possibly a targeted attack' but its obvious it was.
Suspect hasn't been identified or arrested yet.

Apparently it's not the CEO as that's Sir Andrew Witty, this is a guy called Brian Thompson who's the CEO of their benefits division or something.

Obviously still tragic.

My bad Witty seems to be the head of the group UnitedHealthcare is part of which is called United Healthgroup.

I want to agree with what you are saying but if I had a family member or a really close friend whose life was affected because the company did some sketchy bullshit to deny that member coverage I am not sure what my thinking would be but I would want to do something to the company.

One less person in the health insurance racket? Im not shedding any tears to be honest. Deserve to die? Hard to say, probably not. But there are inherent risks to working in a ponzi scheme and having your marks get upset.

Believe me I know but if you truely want to get back at the system bring your story public and talk about the horrors they put you through if that was the case. Based on what I have heard these guys are some of the scummiest people at the helm of these companies most don't even have a medical degree just high paid bean counters from the back of their limos. Some of these guys make upto 1/4 billion a year with stock options. These are the things that need to be called out.

An apparent homeless witness said the assassin had been waiting for several hours. Another report said that the assailant fire from a distance rather than close up. Either of these details could suggest a professional.

My suspicions are on the investor meeting. Possibly some kind of high finance chicanery rather than a disgruntled civilian. <Just speculating, obviously>

When we had our second child, UHC was our provider. We had multiple doctors come in for various tests and such on our newborn and it turns out some were out of network even though our doctor and the hospital were in network. I ended up fighting the overcharges for months and eventually lost as I recall. I remember being furious. Never killed anyone but probably had the thought cross my mind lol.
