Umar did better than all of prime Merab's top opponents with one hand

How can someone think Umar landed the better strikes in round 3? They were jabbing together for most of the round, and merab landed the 3 biggest strikes, when umar was against the cage and merab spun his chin around, the right cross as umar threw a knee and a right hook that stumbled umar a little bit. Not a debate

Umar didn't have one hand...he clearly had functionality of his other hand. Your hand is not one bone - there are 27 bones of difference significance. Umar's hand break was not so severe that he couldn't use it, that is rather clear by how...he used it. It may have been compromised, but it was not "badly" broken.

And Merab will be over 35 by the next time they fight if it were to happen again. Conversely, Umar is about to enter his peak. Merab's age is a much bigger factor in any defeat he takes on starting next year.

hands are also very complex mechanisms, yes: one single bone can limit a lot of functionality.
source: i broke my right hand (3rd and 4th metacarpus) two times and the immediate swelling alone is a big, big limitation.

I see it the same way.

For some reason your post reminded me of Faber vs MTB and Uriah with two broken hands (that did not work) adapting to elbows and still almost got a sub if only he had a tiny bit more grip....

I wish Mirab was a couple years younger.

History revision much? He lost all three rounds convincingly.

Umar the only one to take him down, tooks rounds and rocked him.

Umar took 2, arguably 3 rounds off of Merab with one hand.
Umar did very, very well but he didn't win three rounds here. To say he did is reaching. But his cardio did hold up pretty well down the stretch, when just about everyone else turns to mush, and he did retain a lot of his power... it just wasn't a match for Merab's aggression and pace.

It's not a flex. If a Nurmagomedov didn't win, got to to train harder.

Merab > Umar on the night in question.

I'm picking Merab to best him again should there be a rematch.

I loved Merab's active approach- even though he had a hard time flattening out Umar, he spammed the TD over and over, keeping Umar on the defensive through much of the later fight.

Broken hands are part of the fight.

Merab did an effective job of using the hard durable parts of his body to protect the vulnerable parts and somewhere along the line Umar punched hard bone and paid the price.

I don't view this as any different than someone hurting their leg on a checked kick. Defense was effective and resulted in the attacker hurting himself.

I was wondering why there were less Islam and Nurmigomedov threads. The OP was finally banned, does anyone know what was the straw that broke the camels back?

I guess after time they figure out that he was just an alternative account of some nut job.

OP had the same agenda and same style as at least 10 other troll-accounts who got banned since 2020. I dont remember all the names but one od them was gooseman (maybe written differentl). Seems there is one or a few persons who are just ultra fanatics who dont have anything better to do than hang on the dawg and praise muslim fighters and hate on everybody who is somehow a threat to them. Some of those accounts even pretended to be fans of other fighters, like gooseman swore he was THE gaethje fan, but never mentioned them except when they can use them somehow to praise a muslim fighter. I mean OP is a prime example, Mario Lemieux?? Yeah, sure buddy with your agenda you like hockey and for sure a guy named Mario… Some active one now, wont mention any names, pretend to be other nationalities or even other religions just to boost their praise. Its a crazy world out there.
