Media Umar ain't beating Merab he can't even defend a takedown from a collage wrestler

Lol you’re so obsessed with hating on Khabib and Islam you don’t even realize that “Gilroy” isn’t a person, it’s the high school where DC coaches wrestling.
That was my mistake on the highschool/college but kids from Gilroy are constantly learning and helping guys from AKA this doesn’t seem like a competitive grappling session like TS wants it to be.

"He can't defend a takedown"
<36> <KhabibBS><36>

Yea, it's not like he's trained with Khabib, Usman, Islam and every other killer from that region for decades.

Merab is good at spamming takedowns but he hasn't shown he can do anything with them. He doesn't have GnP nor much of a submission game.

He also hasn't shown how he reacts to people trying to take him down.

I think they will cancel each other's wrestling and this will end up being fought on the feet where Umar is far better, and unlike O'Malley he won't be worried about the takedowns.

In Umar's first 4 ufc fights his opponents shot 0 takedowns. The only takedowns shot on umar in his entire ufc career were desperate shit takedwons in round 5 from sandhagen. We have a much better idea of how Merab deals with guys trying to take him down than we do of Umar. Merab has has had plenty of people try to take him down in the UFC. Cejudo just did it recently, for example.

That training footage is bs.

But however I don´t know how good of a grappler Umar is because I always see the guy knocking guys out he is a good striker hence I have not seen his wrestling that much to be honest.

Anyone familiar with Umar´s level please come forward.

I know Khabib, Islam, Chimaev are legitimate GOAT level grapplers whereas Sterling and Movsar are just right below including Merab is same level as Sterling and Movsar great grappler as well but honestly I don´t know where to place Umar and I have never seen much from him grappling wise.

If I was Umar I would drill wrestling like crazy because EPO Merab won´t do anything else then spam takedowns and the whole fight comes down to can he defend or not.

In other words his TDD average in the UFC is 100%

I wonder what it is in his full career. I'll look it up.

Those stats are wrong. He never fought Saimon oliveira, He never fough lezhnev, He never fought khaliev, he never fought Khousaev, and morozov didn't attempt to take him down, so not sure what the AI saw there.

Also, my main point was that we have a better idea of how merab deals with takedown threats, and I stand by that.

He had more than 5 fights out of the UFC and morozov didn't attempt to take him down, so not sure what the AI saw there. Regardless, those stats are impressive if true

How can you say "impressive if true" right after you just proved them as false?

ChatGPT isn't good for shit like this.

I think Umar is in good hands, he literally grapples people on Merabs or higher level everyday

I don't care about the video but im picking Merab.

As promising as Umar is, I think it's a case of too much too soon. I really do believe getting fast tracked here will work against him. Experience is real and Merab has spent alot of time in the octagon.

Like when Mayweather took out Canelo before Canelo truly entered his prime.
Mayweather was past his prime and Canelo was in his physical prime with 42 fights under his belt.

Lol, I was assuming the majority of those stats would be true, but now I see that umar never even fought Saimon Oliveira.
