I am not touching any of the fights where guys missed by 4 pounds or more. No way they kept trying and I don’t think the ufc would cancel 3 fights from the card. They will happen and fighters will continue to miss weight by big margins until ufc starts putting down bigger penalties.

Would love to see them put in contracts that the fighter only gets show money and gets docked 20% and then 10% more for every pound they are over. And if they miss twice the ufc will not schedule them at that weight class ever again. I don’t know what to do but this is getting to be an every card thing.

Yep, it's getting ridiculous. In Prazerez' case, missing 3 times in 4 fights must mean they'll ship him up to 170 lbs after this one. 3 strikes (or even 2) and you're out, IMO.

Praz should be fired man.. such a fucking cheater =/ why have they not forced him to move up already like they did with Gastelum

He was pretty close man. If he just skipped out on the stuffed crust pizza and Baconator he would have made it.

They need to change the fine structure for missing weight, 20% for first time, 40% for 2nd time and 50% for the third time and going forward. Money is a big motivating factor.

Didn't see AxeMurderer previous post but definitely agree that there needs to be bigger monetary penalties.

That 10%/lb rule actually sounds really good. Obviously cant be the same for all weightclasses, but otherwise great idea.

1lb over is not a big deal, just a small penalty for being unprofessional. 2-4 pounds? Heavier penalty, but atleast you tried to make weight. 5+? Fuck you, 50% of purse and next fight at a heavier weight class.

MMA Fighting: "Under CABMMA rules, Prazeres and Munhoz will be fined 20 percent of their show money, and 20 percent of their win money, should they come out victorious on Saturday. The amount is negotiable."

Basically, if Dodson and Green win, they get 20% of their opponents show money. If Dodson and Green lose, they get 40% of their opponents total money.

That's not how I read that. They'd get 20% of their opponent's total money if they lose.

The members at Cabmma and Alan Patrick are very friends. If close fight, Patrick win. The brazilian judjes is joke.

if Im not mistaken they usually use murican judges for ufc cards

I'd argue Santos is approaching high level, he needs work on his ground game (which this fight probably won't go to) but he has improved his TDD and his stand up is just nasty, Hermansson is no joke and he starched him. Smith I would agree is not high level and actually fairly bad, hes tough however and can come on strong in the 3rd if opponent is already gassed...don't think this fight makes it that far though.
I disagree that his standup is nasty. He hits very hard, but his striking defense SUCKS. I also think he's a bit chinny.

Not only Anders but also Santos didnt look very well on the weight in. Maybe a good lb opportunity if Smith and Machida survive the first round.

Why would grappler want to make weight when miss weight have huge advantage?
Weight make huge different in a grappling match.
you lose, you only get 60g for show $$$ but you can increase your chance of wining with extra 4-5 lbs. So you actually gambling 12g fines to gain another 48g. Who wouldn't take that financial risk? it doesn't matter on pay scale, you gamble 20% of your purse to gain another 80% if you win. If there is no performance or fight of night bonus for fighter that miss weight, than there shouldn't be a win bonus either because you are not playing within the rules. The fighter who stepping it up is taking huge risk, he should get a bigger share of opponent purse.

I do not think prazeres will have much of an advantage with his extra weight. Desmond green is a much much much better wrestler than him and all of praz’s opponents. Mads Burrell? Joshua Burkman? Please.

Even being smaller than prazeres he will stuff every td, possibly score some td of his own. Faster striking, better conditioning.. I think Desmond Green shuts Michel Prazeres down every round and wins a split or a unanimous dec. But I am not an elite better so take it with a grain of salt indeed...
