News UFC Signs 7-Year, $7.7 Billion Dollar Deal for All US Rights to UFC's Product - PPV Model is Done with Events on CBS. (Details Inside)

Nobody knows whether Paramount will keep to the same pricing when they're showing the UFC. This will certainly be interesting. It's long overdue.

Does it matter if P+ is popular? I don't understand this gripe. What about it is bad for the UFC? They just got $1.1 billion a year. MLB only gets $1.5.

Big events will be on CBS. P+ is cheaper than ESPN+. It's $7.99. There's no more $80 PPVs. I think at this point, you guys just like to cry about things, lol.
I'm happy about it but it remains to be seen what they might change the subscription fee to once they have the UFC. They might just figure that will make people pony up a lot more. The PPV model's end is long overdue but don't forget FOX also put on big shows on the regular network when they had it.

This kind of sucks. Paramount Plus is the worst streaming service their is by far. The app is virtually unusable on almost all platforms except PC. I can't stress enough how terrible the app is. Just an example. If you're watching any type of prime time show you can't access the menu at all, so If you had Closed Caption from another show, you would have to log out of the prime time show, log into a different show, turn off closed captions, and log back into the prime time show. The app is so laggy this takes forever, and when you exit out of paramount + show, you will most likely have to watch the commercials again. You also can't exit out of fast forward or rewind if you accidentally hit it, you're have to pick a spot or exit out of the show, in which case you'll have to watch commercials again. And if you fast forward more than a couple of times the app is likely to crash

As far as I know they have been crystal clear that it will only be the subscription price.

That's not what I meant. I meant will they raise that subscription price and how much. Netflix for instance raises their price almost every year now. Obviously it will still be a steal compared to PPV.

Paramount+ is available in the UK, but historically the UFC has done seperate deals in the UK, such as with BT Sport etc.

I wonder if you get it with P+ in the UK too.

Awesome news for fight fans. Terrible news for the fighters, as per usual. Oh well!

Let's pray for a 9pm ET starting time! I have hope again! (Im In Europe). Ariel mentioned its kinda out of primetime if they continue it like it is now.. or maybe the 4 PLE events will stay super late and the move the others at least.

From what I'm reading, it's a HUGE win for the UFC, increasing revenue with ESPN of around $500 million per year, to a guaranteed
$1.2 billion with Paramount/CBS.
Exposure-wise? hm, not sure.
ESPN, the self proclaimed leader of sports broadcasting, was easily the best platform the UFC has ever had.
As far as I know, not many bars, Buffalo Wild Wings, et al stream Paramount+ routinely, but who knows.
I have to keep espn+ for the NHL and now I have to add this as well. Probably won't be expensive but that's not the point.

And, importantly, will this increase in revenue trickle down to the fighters?

You cheap cans who cried for years can now get access to UFC's PPVs for the starting price point of $7.99.

If any of you cans have complaints about this, you're basically a woman, lol.

They're even putting events on CBS. What a time to be alive!
Indeed!

Now where do I go for logging complements about you for calling everyone here (except me) a can <Watt1>

I just saw on MMAfightingonSBN youtube channel that Paramount use to be Spike TV! We've come full circle brother!

CBS has much greater reach than ESPN. Big events will be on CBS. Paramount+ has 77 million subscribers. ESPN+ has 25 million. It's a huge win for the UFC all the way around.

The NHL signed a deal with FanDuel Sports Network to show your local team, it's probably cheaper than ESPN+.
