Mark Shapiro of TKO: UFC's White House event to be absolute monster, "gonna be gangbuster"

except Dana and co don't seem to trust Jones. plus Jon is old. it's not like 2 animals fighting in their primes

For as long and often as you've been posting here, you should know how this works. This certainly isn't the first time Dana has said that about Jon. I remember him stating the same thing after 200 nearly a decade ago, but how many times has Jon headlined since?

Jon is the same age as Alex. They are only 38, not that old by UFC champ standards and the definition of a real super fight kinda requires both guys to be a little older to have earned legend status.

guys, it's not happening, so why do you even care?

there's plenty of reddit to go along in the mean time.

maybe you can agree with the hivemind of r/mma and get your precious karma too.

make sure to agree with the purple hair land whales there, you'll be very cool!

Can't wait to see the white house lawn covered with porta johns, cinder blocks, and lawn chairs. Classy, tasteful times ahead
Crowd is going to a bunch of rich elites. Going to get that Saudi boxing event vibes.

It's still so fucking hilarious that people still think this event is going to bring the UFC to the next level.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Jesus christ some of you are so fucking stupid and gullible. This event is for Trump and Dana and their buddies, that's it, they want to pretend they're Roman emperors and get to watch gladiators fight to the death. You're retarded if you support this lol

I'll still say it. UFC 300 was pretty weak in comparison to 100 and 200. I'll be shocked if the UFC can deliver a real headliner of a fight everyone wants. If they couldn't get 300 down last year with anything crazy, I don't have faith they will do deliver.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEXACTLY.

300 was touted as the biggest event ever, and it was a pile of shit. People are so fucked in the head if they're going to believe Dana's lies again, or believe Trump that Dana is saving literally EVERY CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHT IN EVERY DIVISION for the white house.

The UFC‘s unprecedented event next June on the White House grounds "could make the public outcry over the demolition of the East Wing seem almost quaint" according to Mark Shapiro,
president and COO of the UFC's parent, TKO Group, during an appearance at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference.

In terms of “what this will do for brand, reach, engagement, notoriety, earned media, advertiser interest, this is an absolute monster,” Shapiro said. No tickets will be sold for the event, and the
fighters included on the card are not yet set, but the company is digging into all aspects of the “spectacle,” Shapiro explained.

“We’re just trying to understand structurally how we can do it and set it up, and what we’ve got to build in, replace the soil and the sod, and what we can sell from an advertiser standpoint,
we don’t know yet what the president’s involvement will be exactly,” Shapiro said, “but judging from the draw day with World Cup, clearly he’s willing to get involved with sports that he loves
that take place on U.S. soil, not to mention it's the 250th birthday celebration in the United States. So it’s going to be gangbusters."

During the UBS session, Shapiro spent some time talking about Paramount, which locked up UFC rights in a splashy deal this year. He didn’t handicap the battle for Warner Bros. Discovery,
but noted that the Paramount deal will see certain UFC events broadcast by CBS.

"I don’t know how this Netflix thing is gonna play out – I say Netflix, but you know I mean the chase Netflix seems to be in the lead for now with Warner Brothers,” Shapiro said. “If Paramount is
able to get that asset, I like the world in which we could potentially live on HBO. I like a world where we could potentially live on TNT, because historically, institutionally, these are the sports
destinations, right? They’ve had their years of caring premium sports, and they’ve shown not only that they can attract an audience for sports, but they can convert an audience to sports.”

The UFC will at least aim to have one event per month air on CBS, Shapiro explained. That new reach to more than 100 million households is “really exciting and good for growth,” Shapiro
concluded.

who says "gangbusters" anymore, is he a travelling salesman from the 1930s?
