The Lombard,Roberts, and Boetsch(even before the finish) fights were no less entertaining then most fighter's fights. That is just from his run since losing to Silva.

He has been on 2 televised cards since then, and I can't see him making more than 50k to show... that's not exactly breaking the bank.

Pretty ridiculous cut if you ask me. Was never a huge fan of the guy, but how can you take the UFC seriously when they are releasing top 10 guys in their division?

Yeah, and I think there's a reason for this. Psychologically, it's all downhill after the UFC cuts you. Then you go fight someone in Bellator/WSOF/wherever who is incredibly motivated to beat a former top UFC fighter.

I'm surprised. Okami's only 32 years old and won three straight to an up and coming contender. Sure Jacare beat him up pretty badly but he only lost one fight what happened to losing three fights being the death kneel. I get that Okami was now a gatekeeper and would never have gotten a title shot again but there was no reason to cut him. Besides Okami is up there in the all time MW rankings and is arguably Top 5 and is the best talent the UFC has got from Japan in the Zuffa era. This move makes no sense so now if you have no shot at contending anymore they just cut you?

Shitty release on the UFC's part. Okami's 5 losses in the UFC are to Franklin, Sonnen, Silva, Boetsch, and Jacare. All but Boetsch are either former champions or top fighters. Doesn't make sense to me.

Also the Fitch comparisons aren't accurate imo. Half of Okami's wins are by stoppage.

Wonder who will pick him up now. Bellator? WSOF? One FC?
