Wasn't it 4 billion?I remember back when they sold the UFC for 1 billion people laughed at everyone who overpaid when Fertittas sold.

Paramount is a weird choice if you want to be global. Netflix would've been better.
Obligatory fighter pay thread.Cliffs :
-UFC is now valued at close to 16 Billion
-Paramount overpaid for UFC rights to get everything
-Originally Paramount only getting fight nights. Decided to get ppv cards too but had to pay extra.
-PPV Cards almost went to Netflix or Amazon
-UFC is expected to keep growing and get more fans now that everything is more accessible on Paramount + CBS
-Paramount is betting big on UFC and is advanced talks for Zuffa Boxing
The UFC should use their extra money to expand faster abroad in Europe and Asia. They are focusing to much in America.

Why Paramount Overpaid for UFC Media Rights
Analysts say the agreement represents an overpay, but one done on purpose as Paramount eyes a foothold in the world of live sports.frontofficesports.com

2005 fighters could go get sponsors, though.Obligatory fighter pay thread.
UFC quadrupled their value, now worth $16 Billion, but still pay their fighters like it's 2005.

In more counties than I assumed but not in the Netherlands.Beyond the U.S., Paramount+ is available directly in countries like Canada, Mexico, Australia, Latin America, the UK, and parts of Western Europe (e.g., France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland). In much of Europe—especially the Nordics and Central/Eastern Europe—it’s available through the joint SkyShowtime platform. Additionally, it’s accessible in regions like Japan, Greece, the Middle East/North Africa, the Philippines, and (soon) South Korea through local distribution partnerships.
Why?At some point the bottom gotta fall out on all these sports valuations imo not sure when but I think it’s coming at some point
Don't hold your breath.I really hope they ditch just about all the changes ESPN made. As someone who has been watching since UFC 1, fought myself, been to dozens of UFCs and hundreds of mma shows, cornered UFC fighters and has worked in multiple aspects of the MMA world, I really have disliked the watered down marginalization of the sport over their tenure.
This is an opportunity to reinvent the cheesiness ESPN injected into "cage fighting."
I'm looking forward to being interested again.
They were valued at 10b.Thats a lot of money. Its funny though the cowboys would probably sell for close to.16 billion. Ufc is definitely climbing its way up though
Oh yeah, whoops. Clearly got my numbers wrong. Been doing a billion things without sleep lately, my bad.Wasn't it 4 billion?
I think the UFC was in big trouble with ESPN+. This is a bold move to go away from the PPV model, but I think it's the right move. I expect viewership to rise dramatically. I could see Topuria pulling 5-10 million viewers on Paramount+ if he continues to win.UFC is dying
Yeah the blazers just went for 4.5. No time has the cowboys ever been worth half the blazers. The cowboys will get the biggest of dogs out for the biddingThey were valued at 10b.
