UFC now worth 16 Billion, Quadrupled in value. Expected further growth in brand

Paramount is a weird choice if you want to be global. Netflix would've been better.

Supposedly they were in talks with Amazon and Netflix 4 months ago. The UFC probably priced themselves out of those deals.

To put it in perspective Netflix paid $5 billion for exclusive rights to WWE content for next 10 years. The UFC deal is around 1 billion per year.

Wasn't Bellator funded by Paramount? I'm going to assume they were testing the waters to see if mma events were profitable through ad revenue. It's probably for the best imo.

Cliffs :
-UFC is now valued at close to 16 Billion
-Paramount overpaid for UFC rights to get everything
-Originally Paramount only getting fight nights. Decided to get ppv cards too but had to pay extra.
-PPV Cards almost went to Netflix or Amazon
-UFC is expected to keep growing and get more fans now that everything is more accessible on Paramount + CBS
-Paramount is betting big on UFC and is advanced talks for Zuffa Boxing

The UFC should use their extra money to expand faster abroad in Europe and Asia. They are focusing to much in America.

Obligatory fighter pay thread.

UFC quadrupled their value, now worth $16 Billion, but still pay their fighters like it's 2005.

Paramount is a huge positive and can grow the sport.

Take it from niche to mainstream.

Beyond the U.S., Paramount+ is available directly in countries like Canada, Mexico, Australia, Latin America, the UK, and parts of Western Europe (e.g., France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland). In much of Europe—especially the Nordics and Central/Eastern Europe—it’s available through the joint SkyShowtime platform. Additionally, it’s accessible in regions like Japan, Greece, the Middle East/North Africa, the Philippines, and (soon) South Korea through local distribution partnerships.
In more counties than I assumed but not in the Netherlands.

Netflix is way more popular here though.

UFC has been stale imo.

But their business model is financially successful.

I really hope they ditch just about all the changes ESPN made. As someone who has been watching since UFC 1, fought myself, been to dozens of UFCs and hundreds of mma shows, cornered UFC fighters and has worked in multiple aspects of the MMA world, I really have disliked the watered down marginalization of the sport over their tenure.

This is an opportunity to reinvent the cheesiness ESPN injected into "cage fighting."

I'm looking forward to being interested again.
Don't hold your breath.

UFC is dying
I think the UFC was in big trouble with ESPN+. This is a bold move to go away from the PPV model, but I think it's the right move. I expect viewership to rise dramatically. I could see Topuria pulling 5-10 million viewers on Paramount+ if he continues to win.

He’s box office for sure
