UFC is making fans who go to live events sit there for 6 hours for 2 hours of fights.

I thought the last UFC event was a little long. Thirteen fights is a few too many for me, I lose interest. The fights started at 5:30 and ended at 11:30...too long.

I went to an event that had lots of time in between and I had lots of fun. The DJ they have is pretty good and they do a decent job of keeping you entertained and I showed up 30 mins before the event even started.

OMG sitting at a live UFC with no commercials?! The horror!

If you've been to a UFC event, you already know everyone plays with their phones in between fights.

Doesn't everyone play with their phones in between everything?

i was in brisbane for hunt x silva, everything seemed to run fine for me. like someone else has said, more breaks gives you more time to get more food and drinks. whenever a fight wasnt going on i was still enjoying myself with my friends

perhaps if you come to an event on your own then it will be boring as hell, id imagine thats what happened to the author of that article

People will whine about anything boy I swear
I go to the UFC everytime it comes to the Bay Area and its freakin great!
I get there early and watch every fight and theres not one boring moment
If anything I wish there was more time between fights because if you make a few trips to the bar and bathroom then you will end up missing some fights while standing in line
Who ever wrote that article is a fuckin crybaby that probably also whines about people chanting USA

When youre there live it really doesnt matter all THAT much. Been to 3 ufc events.

Regardless if this is a serious issue, historically and presently, the UFC has shown us one thing for absolutely certain.

They are unwilling to evolve. Their view of evolving is tweaking their standard palette and system to enhance what it is already there. Veins would pop if they had any serious discussion about changing something in their format. It's never going to happen unless someone like Fertitta gets convinced its hurting his bottom line. And they don't seem to be convinced about any other criticisms levied at them

............................................the psychological MMA event strategy planning committee should have this on lockdown. :icon_lol:

As long as your with fun people you'll have a fun time.btwn fights you can walk around the venue get food, drinks, souvenirs. There's always ladies walking around with a female friend or 2.The 6hrs Flys by.

Looks like a sherdogger wrote the piece.

6 hours if the event is at a casino is a good time..
6 hours at an arena in ohio is torture.

Do fans know that the events take this long before hand? Yes. Did they know this when they paid for their tickets? Yes. Clearly by this thread, me included that have gone to an event it isn't a big deal. Some may hate a lot of things Dana says but live, UFC is the shit.

I think 13 fights on one card is a bit much but I'd prefer it over less fights as a hardcore. And those casuals that probably don't care as much aren't going to be there as long. So it's not an issue at all.

Throw this complaint in the bin.

I've been to 3 MMA events live. 1 Strikeforce and 2 UFC. I will tell you that I'd rather see quick fights with filler time so that I can get wasted and take pisses and stare at the booth babes than sit through a shitload of snoozefests.

We shouldn't complain about free TV cards that happen twice a month. We used to only have 3-4 events a year.

I've been to hundreds of mma shows and have sat everywhere from nose bleeds to on the cage. I still overwhelmingly prefer to watch from home.

Haha yup!

I went to the Minneapolis event and had no problem sitting through the whole thing.
